Yeah Surf, the artist Steve Leiber, lives here in Pittsburgh, and he and I have had many long conversations about adapting these stories to film for many years. He is unbelievably excited that it is finally coming to the big screen
Re: Full Year Draft League Taken Films/Discussion Thread
You know far too many cool artists. It must be great to have your art translated to screen. Tell him he has a big fan here in NZ. Has he mentioned anything about when Thaw will be released?

Re: Full Year Draft League Taken Films/Discussion Thread
Yeah, I've known my share of artists (Pretty sure I've got a Leiber Hawkman drawing somewhere in my gallery). As someone who can't even complete the circle on the head of a stick man, I can't even imagine what it's like to draw let alone see my creations make it to the big screen. Haven't spoken to Steve in a while, but I think the last time I spoke with him about it, it was pretty much that no decision would be made about future films until they got some kind of results from the first one.

Anyone want to switch 12th round picks?

By the way guys, Powder Blue, although locked in, was not released last week, and Worst Previews is reporting that it is going straight to DVD. I think transformers should be allowed to pick again.
To make up for the fact that you won't get to see Jessica Biel on screen, here is her scene that everyone wants to see. And T-Bone and J.I must ask there parents to watch this first, over 18's and all....

That is news to me. However, Surfer is correct since none of the four theatres scheduled to open it actually ran it (oddly enough, the website was never updated).
Tranny, you get to replace Powder Blue with any other film that hasn't been taken.

Banks got THE steal in Rd. 12, however with Cannes selling films and the always interesting TIFF and Tellride Film Festivals later in the summer, the waiver wire will be pretty full of intriguing picks. The Next Big Thing might not even be done filming yet.

Valentine's Day seems like a good pick. But will it be ready for February?

Re: Full Year Draft League Taken Films/Discussion Thread
Yeah, I tried to ensure that all my picks would definitely be released before the deadline. I didn't want a movie which I'd have to drop and scrape around for scraps because it didn't have a release date. And I get one of the first options on the new movies which are announced after the draft finishes, so if I want to drop a pick, I can get a decent movie for it.

It can be, if it's fast-tracked. And with the last pick, it was a gamble I was willing to take. Especially since I don't really have a chance of winning, risks are the only thing that'll make me a contender. The same situation applies for Going The Distance, I hope at least one will be ready by then though.
But there's still a ton of movies filming that don't have a release date that will probably pop up soon.

I had a question about the wire. Is the two days waiver time from it's announcement in a trade like Variety or Mojo? And after the two days is it fair game for anyone to pick up, like Antichrist?

I would say, someone should post it in the waiver thread or the date change forum. After two days of that, it will be fair game... Everyone should at least be able to see it, I think.
