Library has Season One of Flight of the Concords so I am giving that a try. Not sure so far but their "Fan" (fanbase) is hilarious.
Re: what are you watching RIGHT NOW.... or somewheres about close to "right now"
I hope you start to appreciate the comic genius of FOTC, Donte. It really is a fabulously hilarious program. If you find you like that style of program, and if you maybe want it a little more surreal, then check out Mighty Boosh. Nice to see NZ is making its mark on the world though.

Finished the first 6 episodes and I think the show is hilarious.
"See you just put 'O' and 'no' together and said Ono."
"Ono I didn't."
"You did it again."
'Ono I did."
good stuff.
And I would nominate Molly for the creepiest damn person on TV.

Been catchin up on The Office (US) lately. I never watched it before but I got my hands on the first 4 seasons and this show is hiliarious!
I'm halfway into Season 2 and it's already become one of my fav shows on TV right now. I always thought Steve Carell was a little overrated, but wow, he IS this show. Throw in this sweet romance with Jim and Pam and you've got it all.
This and 30 Rock have to be the best comedies on right now.

Personally I'd give those titles to South Park and Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
Re: what are you watching RIGHT NOW.... or somewheres about close to "right now"
I haven't found South Park to be funny in years.
Re: what are you watching RIGHT NOW.... or somewheres about close to "right now"
I've always thought that It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia looked like shit and I don't understand why Danny Devito decided to join the cast.
But I'm guess I'm not the target audience since I hate Scrubs.

And I think the newer seasons are even better than the old ones. To each his own.
And Always Sunny and Scrubs are completely different. The audience for Always Sunny is anyone who likes really fucked up and offensive humor. Like trying to get laid at an abortion clinic, pretending to have cancer, or basing an entire episode on whether or not a rapper that one of the characters is dating is actually retarded.

Banks,
I'm with you. Had never found Carrell to be funny and really had only enjoyed his role in Little Miss Sunshine. Then, last Summer, the wife and I rented all 4 seasons of The Office and loved it. We hadn't watched 30 Rock either so we got both seasons of it, and now both are Can't Miss TV on Thursdays.
Re: what are you watching RIGHT NOW.... or somewheres about close to "right now"
I guess that I haven't really seen anything for It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia since I first saw ads for it back when the first season started, which made it look like a Scrubs wannabe. It was paired with a show called Starved, about people with eating disorders. I actually thought Starved looked good compared to the other show. I never watched it but it was canceled after four episodes while It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia is still on the air. I wondered why it got canceled for a while but then realized why: it starred the really poor man's Edward Burns, Eric Schaffer. A talentless director who always casts himself in the lead of his films even though he has even less talent as an actor. If you rent the film If Lucy Fell (directed and starring him), you can see why his career went nowhere. And yet, he still makes films that no one wants to see because he thinks so highly of himself.

I've never seen Sunny but I keep hearing about it. Maybe I'll give it a chance one day.
I think South Park is great, I don't watch it as much as I used to, but it's up there with Family Guy for Best Animated Show for me.

Watching the new HBO series The Life and Times of Tim. Really funny and understated animated sitcom. I urge you all to check it out.

Donte,
No idea who he is, but to me he always sounds like some guy trying to do an impression of Ray Romano

Re: what are you watching RIGHT NOW.... or somewheres about close to "right now"
That was pretty funny. I checked out the guy on IMDB and he hasn't done anything beyond this, so I guess he must just have one of those voices.
Anyway, got a free screening of Zach And Miri last night (yes, it is finally coming out over here, and I got a sneak peak a few weeks before release!), it was very good. I much preferred it over Knocked Up, found it much funnier and found Elizabeth Banks to be a much more likeable character than Katherine Heigl's. Justin Long was brilliant as the successful gay porn star, thought he was hilarious. Nice to see Kevin Smith is back to his best.
And considering we are on animated tv series, I'll introduce you all to one I've been watching again for the first time in a couple of years:

I never got to see Zack and Miri Make A Porno in theatres. There were other movies that I wanted to see beforehand (my mother also wanted to see it and we saw other films beforehand) and it never went second-run here so I missed out on it.
But at least it's on DVD now. That and RocknRolla, The Duchess, The Mummy 3 and others I missed out on.

Zack and Miri was one of the funniest films of last year. Defintley Funnier Than Tropic Thunder and Pineapple Express[even though i liked both of these films as well]. Kevin Smith got back to the top of his game with that one. I'm getting Rock N Rolla soon on netflix really wanted to see it and didn't get the chance while it was in theaters.

Watched Wanted again last night. We got the uncut version of the movie which was 'too hot for cinemas'. I couldn't actually tell what was the difference from the theatrical version though. Anyone able to shed any light on this? I'm sure you saw Jolie's ass in the theatrical version. Anyway, very enjoyable popcorn flick, and even if it didn't stick to the comic beyond the opening, still very cool. Extras aren't bad either, Mark Millar gets a couple of words in which is nice.

There really was no difference between the theatrical and uncut version of Wanted. I also rewatched recently and its still amazing.

Watched Escape From L.A. less than a hour ago. I forgot that Bruce Campbell was in it (actually a lot of familar faces are in it, such as Stacy Keach, Steve Buscemi, Peter Fonda, Cliff Robertson, Pam Grier with a digitally altered voice so that her character sounds manly, A.J. Langer from My So-Called Life and a bunch of other people).
I also noticed that it is basically a big-budget remake of the first. Stacy Keach plays the Lee Van Cleef character, George Corraface (a Spanish actor whose only other major US film was the awful Christopher Columbus: The Discovery) plays the Isaac Hayes character, Steve Buscemi plays the Ernest Borgnine character, Cliff Robertson and A.J. Langer basically play the Donald Pleasance character (Robertson as the President, Langer as the important figure who is kidnapped) and of course, Kurt Russell plays Kurt Russell.

Re: what are you watching RIGHT NOW.... or somewheres about close to "right now"
while i'm a fan of both Escape from NY and LA, if you were to combine the high points of each (and lose the lows), you'd have a KILLER movie..
finally caught In Bruges.. very good.. i was misled by the trailer that played it up as a Guy Ritchie-esque action/comedy..
we also saw Coraline in 3D.. i definitely recommend catching the 3d version if you are interested in this movie. i wasn't the biggest fan of the book (although i LOVE most of gaiman's work), and i think Selick actually improved upon it in many ways.. the book was screaming for an adaptation, and Selick was the man for the job.. at the same time, the film doesn't quite rise above the short-comings of the source material.. the intended audience is kinda unclear--as it is a bit too dark for children, yet too simplistic for adults (several times throughout, a character redundantly explains what is happening on screen).. also, like the book, the story is a bit shallow once you scratch past the surface.. either way, the film LOOKS amazing and it works as a family-friendly movie..............albeit a really creepy one
finally, i watched (most of) Desperado for the first time since Grindhouse was released.. i think it really benefits from being approached in the grindhouse mindset.. i used to criticize it for being ridiculously over-the-top, but now i like it for that very reason..... nonetheless, i can't help but lose interest when they break out the rocket-launching guitar case... maybe i'm contradicting myself, but i just feel like the last 25 or so minutes could've been done SO much better
