I've heard the same thing, I watched the whole series Planet Earth and it was amazing. I would love to see it on the big screen though.

That's true, I really liked it too, but I would just rather pull out my bluray and watch it on my hdtv, than pay ten bucks to watch it with a bunch of loud mouthed school kids

True, I"ll be interested to know who the narrarator is. When I rented them I got some english guy, which I loved. Then they showed them on TV again and it was Sigourney Weavor.

Steve Mason's Predictions
"The likely weekend winner will be either Obsessed or Disney’s nature doc Earth, which opened Wednesday to about $4M, but I am giving the nod to recording superstar Beyonce despite the fact that Sony has kept its exploitative-looking thriller completely under wraps."(full article here)
FINAL PREDICTION FOR APRIL 24-26
1. NEW – Obsessed (Sony) - $15M
2. NEW – Earth (Disney) - $13.2M
3. 17 Again (Warner Bros) - $12.7M
4. NEW - The Soloist (Dreamworks/Paramount) - $11.6M
5. State of Play (Universal) - $9M
6. Monsters vs. Aliens (Dreamworks/Paramount) - $7.9M
7. Hannah Montana: The Movie (Disney) - $7.4M
8. Fighting (Rogue) - $7M
9. Fast & Furious (Universal) - $5.8M
10. Crank: High Voltage (Lionsgate) - $2.8M
11. Knowing (Summit) - $2M
12. NEW – The Informers (Senator) - $1.7M
Maybe I shouldn't have been so quick to drop Earth from my Ultimate Slates?

Re: 4/24 Tracking
I think this will be Earth's biggest day, being Earth Day and all, but I could be wrong. Either way, Boush was more right, so good call sir.

I got the blu-ray with the british gentlemen imported from UK via Amazon. I prefer it much to Sigourney Weaver. I guess it doesn't really matter in the end, but I prefer the original in most cases, rather than the version they make to appeal to audiences who can't handle accents...I imagine their the same who can't read subtitles...

I too prefer the english guy, his voice was much smoother.

Re: 4/24 Tracking
Its really not the voice that mattered, its the images. Mfrendo your film snobbery is at an unheralded level
Re: 4/24 Tracking
Still nothing from Mase. I hope he's just, like, on vacation or something, because now I'm starting to get worried...

Re: 4/24 Tracking
Here are Mase's (very) updated numbers, which look almost nothing like his earlier numbers:
EXCLUSIVE STEVE MASON EARLY FRIDAY ESTIMATES
1. NEW – Obsessed (Sony) - $11M, $4,375 PTA, $11M cume
2. NEW – Fighting (Rogue) - $3.72M, $1,610 PTA, $3.72M cume
3. 17 Again (Warner Bros) - $3.61M, $1,109 PTA, $31.91M cume
4. NEW - The Soloist (Dreamworks/Paramount) - $3.43M, $1,695 PTA, $3.43M cume
5. NEW – Earth (Disney) - $2.61M, $1,447 PTA, $9.39M cume
6. State of Play (Universal) - $2.58M, $1,029 PTA, $22.12M cume
7. Hannah Montana: The Movie (Disney) - $2.21M, $685 PTA, $61.41M cume
8. Fast & Furious (Universal) - $1.86M, $524 PTA, $5.79M cume
9. Monsters vs. Aliens (Dreamworks/Paramount) - $1.8M, $536 PTA, $168.09M cume
10. Crank: High Voltage (Lionsgate) - $1M, $450 PTA, $10.11M cume
EXCLUSIVE STEVE MASON EARLY 3-DAY ESTIMATES
1. NEW – Obsessed (Sony) - $27.5M, $10,939 PTA, $27.5M cume
2. 17 Again (Warner Bros) - $10.83M, $3,327 PTA, $39.13M
3. NEW - The Soloist (Dreamworks/Paramount) - $10.29M, $5,084 PTA, $10.29M cume
4. NEW - Fighting (Rogue) - $9.74M, $4,219 PTA, $9.74M cume
5. NEW – Earth (Disney) - $9.39M, $5,208 PTA, $15.04M cume
6. State of Play (Universal) - $8.38M, $2,987 PTA, $26.61M cume
7. Monsters vs. Aliens (Dreamworks/Paramount) - $7.56M, $2,251 PTA, $173.85M cume
8. Hannah Montana: The Movie (Disney) - $7.41M, $2,295 PTA, $66.63M cume
9. Fast & Furious (Universal) - $5.79M, $1,625 PTA, $144.95M cume
10. Crank: High Voltage (Lionsgate) - $2.8M, $1,259 PTA, $11.91M cume
So Obsessed opens huge after all. In fact, the biggest Opening ever for the last week of April. I fully expect, however, that it will drop 60% or more in Week 2. Still, for its cheap price, it's already paid dividends, including 5 Top 5 points and a few PTA (depending on how The Informers, The Mutant Chronicles, Tyson and Treeless Mountain do).

Re: 4/24 Tracking
Those hoping for big PTAs from Informers and Is Anybody There need to go pick up another film because they both bombed out on Friday.
Informers had $228 PTA Friday
Is Anybody There? had slightly less anemic $611 PTA Friday
