Season of The Witch sounds awful. And I'm thinking Wild Child needs to be straight to DVD after they failed to capitalize on the success of Hotel For Dogs.

I figured they would go ahead and release Wild Child into theatres. It was one of Natasha Richardson's last films and Nick Frost is also in the film.

Hmm... this means that in the June Ultimate leagues, Taking Woodstock costs $9 with ONE week of play instead of THREE. Bummer for those who don't pick up on this...

Grown-Ups has been pushed to June 25. Sucks for Buscemi...

Shanghai has been pulled, which is expected since it's Weinsteins.

The Green Hornet moved back 2 weeks to July 9 to make room for Grown-Ups (they're both Sony).

And something called Hard 10 has been given a release date of March 12th, I don't know what it is since it's not on IMDb.

EDIT - Hard 10 is apparently the new title for She's Outta My League.

I'm dropped Grown-Ups for Season Of The Witch. Hopefully it can pull in Knowing-type numbers.

Not a date change, but a name change rather:

the Untitled Michael Moore Documentary is now titled Capitalism: A Love Story.

And not only that, A Perfect Getaway has been moved (again) from the extremely crowded weekend of 8/14 to the slightly-less-crowded weekend of 8/7.

And now a release date change and a name change on the same movie:

Cirque du Freak has moved up from January 15th to October 23rd and is now called The Vampire's Assistant. Apparently this is going to be like The Seeker because it sounds like that the film is too crappy to carry the book's title.

Though not official yet, you may see Fireflies In The Garden, Splice and Brooklyn's Finest all leaving the 2009 schedule and moving to 2010 with different distributors. The reason is that Senator is having financial troubles (after releasing only one film) and do not have any money for prints and advertising to release their films. This is also why All The Boys Love Mandy Lane was pushed back.

Some new dates:

A Nightmare on Elm Street has been pushed back two weeks to April 30th, 2010. Not very smart, it'll have a huge 2nd weekend drop thanks to Iron Man 2.

WB must be very confident with Jonah Hex since they've moved it from August to the heart of the summer on June 18th, 2010.

A John Cusack movie called The Factory has been pushed back from October 2010 to January 28, 2011.

And a non-starter but I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell has been bumped from September to October 16.

Two more new release dates and a title change:

Fifty Dead Men Walking: August 21st (this is in the US)
The Boat That Rocked: November 6th

Also the The Boat That Rocked is now called Pirate Radio (why they changed the title I do not know).

No changes that affect us directly for this year except that The Wolfman has been moved from november 6 to february 12th. I though that the last two months of the year, November especially, were shaping up to be HUGE and that might be why they moved it but there is still plently left to whet our appetite

And another name change:

Hard 10 (which was an awful title and sounded like a porno) is called She's Out Of My League again.

Well, at least the kids from The Secret Life Of An American Teenager aren't making movies.
