Most Anticipated Movies Of 2010
No, it couldn't wait.
Hot Tub Time Machine (February 26th): It's a movie about a hot tub. That doubles as a time machine. And John Cusack is in it. Either it's going to be the stupidest movie ever or the most awesome ever.
And note to MGM: don't change the title. You've totally got "Snakes On A Plane"-esque posibilities here.
Piranha 3D (March 19th): It's a remake of Piranha. But it's in 3-D. And it's directed by Alexandre Aja so it will most likely be better than My Bloody Valentine.
Clash Of The Titans (March 26th): Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes will square in this remake from the director of The Incredible Hulk, Unleashed and the first two Transporters. Add some Harryhausen-esque stopmotion and I'm totally sold.
The Expendables (April 23rd): Stallone. Statham. Li. Rourke. Lundgren. And a bunch of other names I think of right now. In a movie that's going to be so ridiculous that it guarantee a fun night at the movies.
Iron Man 2 (May 7th): The first one was good and despite the lack of Terrence Howard, it can't be all bad. And Mickey Rourke in a dual role. Awesome.
Toy Story 3 (June 18th): Nice to see that they're finally completing the series. And the plotline is great of Andy leaving for college and the toys being donated to a daycare center. Kind of like a big-budget Brave Little Toaster but with toys.
Inception (July 16th): It's not Batman 3 but I guess it will do. But in a way, it sounds like Blade Runner for the new decade. Hopefully Nolan doesn't fuck it up.
Suckerpunch (October 8th): Alice in Wonderland with guns. Finally, a chick flick that everyone can enjoy.
Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part One (November 10th): Even though it's wait and see with The Half-Blood Prince still not out but these movies are usually good and it may be sad to finally see these characters end their journey. It's like with Marty McFly or Luke Skywalker and how we get to know them so well and then by the time it's over, we don't want it to end.
James Bond 23 (November): I know many were disappointed with Quantum Of Solace but Daniel Craig is still a good Bond. Hopefully this time we get more Casino Royale-esque action and a more complete ending that doesn't feel chopped up to get the PG-13.
RoboCop (TBA): Normally I hate remakes but with Darren Aronofsky doing it, it's got to be a great remake. Hopefully they get an actor similar to Peter Weller as RoboCop and keep the CGI to a minimum. And also bring back Kurtwood Smith in some way (either as Dick Jones or The Old Man).
Also: Hoodwinked 2 (January 15th), The Book Of Eli (January 15th), A Couple Of (Dicks) (January 29th), Beauty and The Beast 3-D (February 12th), From Paris With Love (February 19th), Mad Families (March 12th), Ramona and Beezus (March 19th), A Nightmare On Elm Street (April 16th), Nerveracker (April 16th), Nottingham (May 14th), Priest (August 13th), Green Lantern (December 17th), Rapunzel (December), Red Sonja (TBA), The Three Stooges (Spring TBA)

Hopefully he'll put a foot in someone's ass for old time's sake.
Meanwhile, the two at the top of my list are:
Iron Man 2 - I didn't really like the villian in the first one, so this one may actually be better than the first.
Lincoln - I REALLY hope it gets off the ground. Why hasn't there been a Lincoln, Washington, Jefferson, etc bioptic anywhere? Many of them have really good life stories--considering they were presidents. Or has there been?
I really don't know much of what's coming out until a few months in advance when I research for the game, so there's probably more...
I also just noticed that they are remaking Let the Right One In... Slated for release in mid-January. I hope it doesn't completely suck.

The Let The Right One In remake is now called Let Me In. That title is even worse than the original title. A better title would be something like Eli or The Vampire Child (which I believe should have been the original's title).

Please tell me you're joking man. The Vampire Child sounds like a shitty Disney movie or a really C-grade horror one. Let The Right One In is excellent and fits in perfectly with the film. Let Me In is not really that bad, not as good as the originals name, but much better than Eli or The Vampire Child.
Re: Most Anticipated Movies Of 2010
The Vampire Child sounds to me like Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles. Meanwhile, Eli is the name of the vampire and sometimes horror movies can use short yet mysterious titles to explain things.
Meanwhile, Let The Right One In sounds like a bad quirky indie comedy about picking roommates or picking the right girl and Let Me In sounds like a family comedy about feuding siblings.

Re: Most Anticipated Movies Of 2010
Harry Potter - of course. I have to complete it!
Inception - Sounds like a great cast and Nolan sounds as if he is back in a Prestige/Memento mindset.
Iron Man 2- Easy.
Toy Story 3 - Much anticipated sequel
Alice in Wonderland - I can't wait to see how Tim Burton reimagines this classic
Jonah Hex- Megan Fox
Green Lantern - Michael Gondry and Seth Rogen. Should be quite an interesting mix.
Smurfs

Re: Most Anticipated Movies Of 2010
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1.- Even though David Yates's entries have not been my favorite, and I feel they really should have gotten a big name to do the final two, I still love everything Harry Potter and can't wait to see how they handle it.
Alice in Wonderland is my biggie for next year. I absolutely hated Burton/Depp's Charile and the Chocolate Factory, but that's just because there was an original (not animated) to compare it to...As long as he doesn't fuck with the story of another one of my favorite childhood stories, we'll be good.
Toy story 3- It's about god damn time.
Other than that it's pretty slim pickens for me for movies I just can't wait to see, but I'm sure once some trailers start trickling out the following will be on my list...
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time- I'm a huge fan of this game, and while I usually think video game movies are stupid and pointless, the game is already basically a movie anyway, and Mike Newell is a solid choice for this kind of film. Plus the early shots of Jake Gyllenhaal as the prince have eroded any doubt I had about him not being a good choice for the role.
Inception- I think this will decide (for me, anyway) whether Christopher Nolan has lost that spark and edge that made his films pre-Batman so damn fun to watch. I'm not totally dissing TDK, but it definitely doesn't have the layers that made his previous movies so genuinely fascinating. Here's hoping he hasn't gone too Hollywood.
A Couple of Dicks- After Zack & Miri proved to me that Kevin Smith can make a decent movie without Jay and Silent Bob, and the fact that this has Bruce Willis attached...I'm in.
Iron Man 2- Despite Terrence Howard's departure and the fact that they're replacing him with someone who I, personally feel doesn't have the chops for the part, the first one absolutely blew me away, and Sam Rockwell, Mickey Rourke and Scarlett Johanssen joining the cast has me sold.
Robocop- I think Darren Aronofsky is the perfect choice for this, and although I hated his first two films, he's proven he can make an effective film without that bullshit film student crap...And as boush said, as long as they keep the CGI to an absolute minimum, it should be a damn good reincarnation.
Nightmare on Elm St.- Finally, one of the only horror franchises that actually NEEDED a reboot gets its due...After Friday the 13th reminded me that there are such things as good remakes, I've got my fingers crossed and am hoping for the best!

Right now, just looking forward to the big movies:
Harry Potter 7
Iron Man 2
Toy Story 3
The Expandables
Jonah Hex
Oh yeah, A Couple of (Cops) is a mustsee, Tracy Morgan and Bruce Willis. This sounds like one of Tracy Jordan's movies from 30 Rock.

Jonah Hex sounds interesting due to the Batman connection but I'm afraid that Megan Fox and her lack of talent/knack for being in the tabloids may hurt the film. I'm still convinced that she won't be in the final film and that she'll be recast before filming begins.

Why don't you give the beautiful lady a break for once Boush? Its like you live to rip on her. She has done nothing to deserve your beratement. Just appreciate her in all her glorious deliciousness and don't worry about her acting.
Re: Most Anticipated Movies Of 2010
I agree that she is beautiful but the girl just can't act. The people who make the movies are forcing us to accept her in major roles as characters that advance the plotline. Face it, it's not working.
In Transformers, her character was rather pointless and otherwise invisible to the film's events.
In How To Lose Friends and Alienate People, she basically played herself (an model/"actress" who will fuck anyone to get to the top) and her scenes are basically a reason that they invented the fast forward button. Also, her scenes as Mother Teresa are probably some of the worst "movie inside of a movie" moments in film history.

Actually I think that Rachel( I think that was her name, the chick with the australian accent) in Transformers was ten times better looking, but Megan is kinda hot in a hookerish kind of way.
And I think that the Mother Teresa scenes were supposed to be horrible, so I think they achieved what they were trying to do.

Re: Most Anticipated Movies Of 2010
I can't believe that in Swedgin!'s Top 25 there is no ALICE IN WONDERLAND (2010), Director: Tim Burton, with Johnny Depp.
I'm also interested in seeing:
CIRQUE DU FREAK - I love Salma Hayek
FROM PARIS WITH LOVE - Director: Pierre Morel, with: John Travolta and Jonathan Rhys Meyers
DEAR JOHN - after the novel of Nicholas Sparks, Director: Lasse Hallstrom, with:
Amanda Seyfried, Channing Tatum, Richard Jenkins
ADAM SANDLER/KEVIN JAMES/CHRIS ROCK/ROB SCHNEIDER/DAVID SPADE UNTITLED COMEDY
THE TOOTH FAIRY - maybe it will be better than The Game Plan...
I think that Jake Gyllenhaal will be a great PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME
SHREK GOES FOURTH will also go on on 3D...
THE A-TEAM remake - with Bruce Willis --> call me IN
KARATE KID - with Will Smith's son AND Jackie Chan
CATS AND DOGS 2 - the first one was amusing
Robert Downey, Jr. was great in Iron Man, BUT I don't think that the sequel will be much better.
OCEANS - after seeing Earth, this will be a goood company...
THE EXPENDABLES - the Sly project to reunite '90s action move actors legends - call me IN
I'm not a fan of Sex and The City, so I don't wanna see the sequel. Neither Twilight series...
I'm not interested in seeing the remake of Death at a funeral, with Chris Rock! The original was sooo good, that I'm afraid to... you know, to spoil the memory of it...
I also think that Percy Jackson will be the beginning of a new successful franchise...
And I also think that all of these won't be in Top 10 of good quality 2010 movies Maybe a few of them... Waitin' 4 other news... announcing 2010 movies...

I think you've got your Greens mixed up. Green Lantern is about the DC super hero and will be starring Chris Pine hot off of Star Trek whereas the Michael Gondry/Seth Rogen movie is The Green Hornet, the old radio program and 60's TV show that starred Van Williams and Bruce Lee.
Me, I'm looking forward to a very Green 2010
