It's believe it's because it's just another Hollywood-ified remake of a potentially better Asian film that we'll never get to see because Hollywood won't let us (The Lake House is a remake of 2000's Il Mare).

Haha, Arnie is IN too, for a small role. Ben Kingsley is replaced by Eric Roberts. Also, Mickey Rourke has now officially signed on.

Who's next? Jackie Chan, Bruce Willis, Kurt Russel, Steven Segal, Chuck Norris? Smile

Apparently Robert Knepper is going to be in this as well. IMDB also has David Zayas listed. Those two would be fantastic additions for me.

Also, they are reporting on the IMDB board that Danny Trejo is in.

I think it's safe to say that this will the greatest thing ever to grace the planet Earth.

They should also get Liam Neeson, after seeing what he can do in Taken.

And Steven Seagal and Chuck Norris should play themselves, ala Arnold.

I bet you Jean Claude Van Damme is punching himself in the face right now.

This does sound quite hilarious. It'll probably be terrible, but in a good way. I'm looking forward to this one!

By the way, i just heard that Mickey Rourke isn't down for Iron Man 2 now. Partly due to scheduling conflicts with this movie, but mainly because he was only offered $250k to sign on. Now I know in the big scheme of things, that is a lot of money to us. However for movie stars, that, to me is a downright cheek from Marvel. TV actors get paid that!! Marvel seem to be going down the wrong track, first losing Samuel LJ, then dropping Howard for Cheadle, then Emily Blunt, and now Rourke. Is Sam Rockwell still down?

And its not like the movie isn't going to have a huge budget or rake in over 300 million dollars. You'd think they could give the soon to be Academy Award Winner more than a measly quarter million.

I have to say, as a lover of arthouse cinema, I can't wait to see The Expendables. It's like Sly has been watching the best TV shows and cherry picking the best actors (Angel from Dexter, T-Bag from Prison Break, Eric Roberts from his brief but memorable appearance in Heroes), not to mention the classic action heroes from the 80's. I ill be watching this film on opening night, tongue wedged in cheek, and expencting nothing but genius.
