The Expendables $100 Million Club
Okay, so this film does not come out for a year (in fact, it hasn't even started production yet) but I wanted to start a box office club for it. The reason? Check out this cast:
Sylvester Stallone (also writing and directing)
Jason Statham
Jet Li
Mickey Rourke
Forest Whitaker
Dolph Lundgren
Ben Kingsley (rumored)
Sandra Bullock (rumored)
Can you say blockbuster? Who wants to join.

The Ghosts of action movie-stars.. past and present.. If you're an action junky, it's pretty hard to get past all those names.
Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I don't know if it will make 100 mil, but I do know it will be the best film ever! AICN had a script report on it and it sounded hilarious- in a good, 80's way.

Re: The Expendables $100 Million Club
I actually think that last comment was a serious one, and that kinda scares me. I mean I could be wrong, as such a ridiculous comment could have been made in sarcasm, which would make a ton more sense, but I'm going to actually believe that it was made in all seriousness. Kills me a little inside.
Re: The Expendables $100 Million Club
I heard that Mickey Rourke declined also because of the payroll and Van Damme refused Stallone's offer because he didn't knew which part is his... Sandra's refuse is normal because for the last 10 years she's a romcom type and not anymore Speed, Demolition Man type... I think that first was the idea of Sly to reunite the action stars of '80s and much later a screenplay appeared... I think of max. 200% of Rambo 4 - $85-90 MM. Personally I can't see a 9 digits number... BUT maybe the screenplay will be Tropic Thunder hilarious type and it will be a success. We'll see...

He was Drago in Rocky IV and the bad guy in Universal Soldier. He's usually familiar to audiences for his straight-to-video films but here he's attempting a comeback into theatrical films.

UDM,
I would highly suggest you see The Bank Job with Jason Statham, and I don't really know what to recommend to you for Mickey Rourke as I don't know what you have seen and what you haven't.

I love Rumble Fish, although I know a lot would disagree with me. Of course there is Sin City, and I also liked Angel Heart and Buffalo 66.

Add Diner, 9 1/2 Weeks, Year Of The Dragon and The Pope Of Greenwich Village to the list of good Mickey Rourke films.

Throw in Barfly, and you've got quite a catalog of good Mickey Rourke movies to watch.
Re: The Expendables $100 Million Club
I forgot Barfly. The Bukowski adaptations are usually very good.

Re: The Expendables $100 Million Club
I would totally say the Sin City is a Mickey Rourke film, as far as it's any actors film. Rumblefish was outstanding, Pope of Greenwich Village is really good, and I really like a little-seen nineties gem called Bullet, that Mickey Rourke was in. To be honest, Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man is one of my guilty pleasures.

Bullet was also the last film of Tupac Shakur's to be released. Imagine how great of an actor he could have been had he lived.

I hope this can be something like Ocean's 11, where it's awesome despite Julia Roberts. Only this would be awesome despite Sandra Bullock's suckitude.

That one sucked too.
Don't forget Speed 2, but that wasn't really her fault (I blame studio politics and Jason Patric's poor replacement of Keanu).

Angel Heart was weird as fuck. I liked it but it was seriously weird. Had to watch it last year in Elements of Film.
Re: The Expendables $100 Million Club
Although I haven't seen it, just the premise of "The Lake House" is enough to make me vomit. Maybe it's not even the premise, maybe it's just Sandra Bullock.
