Re: Even MORE Date Changes!
From Mexico With Love will probably be only 200 theatres at most. That's usually the number of theatres that Lionsgate will run a Spanish film in. And Night Of The Demons is going wide on October 9th with Couples Retreat. Expect 1,000 theatres on it.
And I have mentioned that Warner Bros. has no faith in The Invention Of Lying, which probably explains the number of delays. Warner Bros. even sold the film's foreign rights to Focus.
And if any October 16th title moves up to the 9th, it will be The Road. It will turn a film that would get killed at its current date into something somewhat manageable at the box office.

Well, Night of The Demons is something I just wrote off. I mean, who the hell is Seven Arts Distribution? If it evens come out, it'll be hard pressed to get 1000 theatres.

Re: Even MORE Date Changes!
Seven Arts Distribution is the latest incarnation of a company that has actually been around since the 1960's. Previously, the company was co-owned by Warner Bros., then broke off and became a production company. Then, they started making projects that were released through New Line Cinema. After that deal ended, they returned to being a production company and now they are distributing titles again (this time, through themselves).
But I imagine Night Of The Demons will have no problem getting theatres to run it for a week or two. The original is a cult classic and the remake should get a little bit interest, like with this summer's The Collector.

The trailer for Night of the Demons is meant to be pretty good as well. I hardly ever watch trailers but so check it out yourself.

Re: Even MORE Date Changes!
More stuff:
The Green Hornet pushed back AGAIN, but this time it's 6 months! Now, it'll come out December 17, 2010.
Probably, Sony will also move The Smurfs 3-D since it's also on that date. Plus the Yogi Bear movie is set for that day, so let's hope Sony will move The Smurfs into the summer.

A Yogi Bear movie? Wow, that will suck (I also just realized that the show was pretty bad but I was too naive to realize it).

Sony Classics is releasing The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus on Christmas Day. Limited, of course.

That's a rather strange release date for a film like this, isn't it? Don't see that working at all unless reviews are amazing. Which they haven't been

Re: Even MORE Date Changes!
I am still not 100% sure that they will release it. Sony Pictures Classics was also set to distribute Tideland at one point but they dropped it due to the content and it was later released by the now-defunct THINKfilm.

Re: Even MORE Date Changes!
Expendables has moved (as most of us expected) to a summer slot. It will now be released on the 20th of August 2010.
Also, Kick-Ass has got a release date. Lionsgate got the rights, and they will release it on the 16th of April.

Glad to hear it. That's too big a cast (no pun intended) to be wasted in a pre-summer release date. August is PERFECT for this film.

Donte is going to punch you right in the face! The Expendables is one of his first few full year draft picks.

Magnolia... so no one will see it and it will be on dvd for Christmas... if Christmas were in April
I should just be thankful that at least there will be a version available!
Too bad I'm such a hater. heh heh heh!

Agreed. April was an awful decision. Always thought this film would play well in June/July like Wanted did, but August is a good place for it.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if it moved again to the summer. If any film has a chance to be 2010's Hangover, this is it.

Re: Even MORE Date Changes!
At the test screening we saw last night of The Boys Are Back, they mentioned it will not be released for another 6 months so anyone that has it on their slates may want to change it
