Re: Fantaverse Society of Film Critics Awards 2008
I hope people only send in nominations on films they have actually seen, and not based on a film's reputation. I don't want this to turn into anything like the Oscars, otherwise why do it?
Re: Fantaverse Society of Film Critics Awards 2008
I will only be posting on what I have seen, I'm sure the field will be very different to the Academy's. Same goes for the worst too. Don't just nominate Uwe Boll based on reputation, only if you have actually seen his turds.

Exactly
Re: Fantaverse Society of Film Critics Awards 2008
Okay, I've drafted mine up, but until I've seen Revolutionary Road tonight and Slumdog when it is released in a couple of weeks, I'm gonna hold back. Interesting additions I noticed when doing it though, and I did struggle in a couple of categories as I didn't realise, despite probably seeing 25-30 movies in the cinema last year, that some categories were not very well represented.

Re: Fantaverse Society of Film Critics Awards 2008
I will, more than likely, not send a list until the very end of the first voting period -- giving me time to see Slumdog, Frost/Nixon, Revolutionary Road, and others first. I'm not assuming that they will be on my lists, but they are simply more 2008 films that I have the opportunity to give consideration to.

I don't think there is a limit on how many people vote, I think Shaan just wanted enough in the first place to make it a decent spectrum of nominations.

Re: Fantaverse Society of Film Critics Awards 2008
I just have a quick question, and I probably should have asked before. In regards to the nominating process, does each film or person we nominate for a category only count once? Because that's how I did it, I didn't rank them 1-5, assuming each had an equal vote. If each got more votes based on where in the category we rank them, I would have to re-do my list.
For Example, is it like this:
Best Picture:
The Dark Knight (5)
The Wrestler (4)
Tropic Thunder (3)
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2)
Cloverfield (1)
or, how I did mine:
Best Picture:
The Dark Knight (1)
The Wrestler (1)
Tropic Thunder (1)
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (1)
Cloverfield (1)
It would work either way, that's why I ask. Just need a clarification.

They each only count once, so the way you did it was just fine.

I need more entries for the Worst series. I've only gotten one so far and it wasn't even complete.

You really consider Heath Ledger to be in a leading role? I don't see how.
