remove the Brian Johnson-era from AC/DC, and they STILL win it for me... obviously, they did some great tracks with Johnson (mostly leftover songs from the Bon Scott era).. but its their 70s albums that really have that raw hard-poundin' swagger that we all love about AC/DC

Its been more than two days and even though it is close, there hasn't been any new votes so... Prince wins!

1 The Clash
vs.
5 AC/DC

7 Talking Heads
vs.
6 Prince

Clash vs AC/DC up now. The last semi-challenge for the Clash.

"Rock & Roll Ain't Noise Pollution. Rock & Roll's just Rock & Roll." or "If you think its easy doin one night stands, try playin in a rockroll band. It's a Long Way to the Top if you Want to Rock & Roll." I'm with you... With no Jimi, Stones, Zeppelin, Cash, I'd support them in the finals.

AC/DC may be all that and a bag of chips, but even Angus Young would admit that they're "Working for the Clampdown"

THE ONLY BAND THAT MATTERS!!!!!!!! THE CLASH

I'm with Keyser on this one...the Clash are fucking amazing! While AC/DC were fun, with some good riffs, they were no where near the intelligence, social awareness, and ferocity of the Clash! The press may have actually got something right when they dubbed them, "The Only Band that Matters".

Also Keyser, and anyone else, did you ever read A Riot of Our Own. It was by their tour manager up through the making of London calling and is a great account of the period.

Frendo,

It's on my list to read. I have read Redemption Song though which covers Strummer's life ioncluding his time with The Mescaleros.

How the hell is this one so close?

AC/DC? I mean, they've had some good songs, but we might as well give the whole damn thing to Aerosmith in that case.

The Talking Heads finally break the tie. They get the unenviable task of taking on "The Only Band That Matters" in the finals of the 76-85 era.

FINALS!!!

1 The Clash
vs
7 The Talking Heads

My local music stores here (which are already hurting) weren't even able to carry it. That makes ACDC worse than money hungry. They are actually helping conglomerates ruin neighborhood stores, just to put more funds in their already rich pockets. Fuck those guys.

Dont mean to be a dick frendo but that Was Guns N Roses. I got my brother the new AC/DC CD at Wal-Mart and ive seen it at Target and Newbury Comics. But AC/DC is very money hungry and greedy.

The Clash win this era and await what happens in the 1986- Present era. Three of the final four have been decided.
