Also great composers include Carter Burwell (Fargo, Barton Fink, Being John Malkovich etc), Michael Nyman (The Piano, Gattaca etc), and Clint Mansel (The Fountain, Moon, Pi, Requiem for a Dream etc)

Harry Potter theme for me. Everytime I hear it in trailers or at the start of a new movie, I get goosebumps.

That's okay, I'm not a big fan of Zimmer. Think he has no restraint, his scores are too OTT

Re: Best Movie Themes/Music?
Has anyone ever noticed that Zimmer's True Romance rips off elements of Carl Orff?

Re: Best Movie Themes/Music?
Some of my favorites -
Prince of Egypt: what a great move and a great sound track! It seamlessly combined the epic/classic Zimmer sound with a bunch of current (at the time) songs performed by artists like Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men.
Nightmare before Christmas:
Wanted:
Batman Begins:
The Dark Knight:
Magnolia:
Mortal Kombat:
Top Gun (I love the guitarist's hair...):
And of course.....

Hahaha.. The Mortal Kombat one is a guilty pleasure of mine, although i've started to like this rock cover more than the original:
Re: Best Movie Themes/Music?
Ok, I started the polls again, and I know we threw out some suggestions here, but let's actually go through a nomination process. Give me your FIVE favorites. You can list more than five, but the first five will be the only ones guaranteed to be on there.
We're going for best overall music (original or not) in a film. Is that agreed upon or were we just doing themes? Or were we doing songs? It should be as specific as possible.
