Re: Daily Trivia Question - Honor System
Wow, Roodey, that question sucks. I have only seen one of them. LOL Of course that shouldn't be true with all the movies I have seen. I fault watching Amelie, Fight Club, and Conan over and over as roughly 200 movies I haven't seen.
C to be different.

I'll go with B, simply because I heard of it in The Changeling.

When did they discuss it in the Changeling, Banks? I don't remember...

Re: Daily Trivia Question - Honor System
When Angelina Jolie is listening to the Oscars over the radio, I think it's by the time her son had been missing for awhile. She was talking to her co-workers earlier about how it would beat out Gone With The Wind (I think that's the one) for Best Picture.

Re: Daily Trivia Question - Honor System
It was Cleopatra, Banks. I thought that whole bit was humorous.

Yep, it was Cleopatra because it couldn't have beaten out Gone With The Wind...

Re: Daily Trivia Question - Honor System
I'll hold off on revealing the answer to the first one for a bit in case we have anyone else who wants to join in.
Question #2
What 'Best Picture Winner' at the Osars had the longest running time?
A. The Best Years of Our Lives
B. Gone With The Wind
C. Lawrence of Arabia
D. Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
Although I don't actually have any specific theme in mind, I could probably dig up some more Oscar questions unless there are objections.

Re: Daily Trivia Question - Honor System
B.
Guessing again
Guessing again
- Spoiler:
- but I remember watching that movie at high school age and thinking how fucking long it was. LOL Maybe that's because I was bored... Return of the King seemed like a 90 minute movie in comparison.

I'll go with A.

Re: Daily Trivia Question - Honor System
Answer to Question 1:
D. Marty. Marty plays at 91 minutes. The shortest best picture in the past 20 years was 'Crash.' Most nominees since 'Marty' have tended to play longer than 2 hours. The four I listed are the four shortest.
1 point Buscemi, Transformers2
Answer to Question 2:
B. Gone With The Wind which lasted for 234 minutes. The most recent of the 'restored' versions has found another 4 minutes bringing it up to 238. The original version of 'Lawrence of Arabia' played at 210 minutes, although when it was restored they bumped it up to the best 228 minutes you'll ever spend watching a movie in the theatre. 'The Best Years of Our Lives' lasted 172 minutes and the theatrical cut of 'Return of the King' was 201 minutes. The Director's cut was 251, the last 30 of which I unbearable.
Correct answers: Donte, Buscemi and leestu
2 points: Buscemi
1 point: Transformers2, Donte, leestu
I'll hold off on giving anymore answers until Monday night, but I'll get up a question on both Saturday and Sunday so that we can keep the game going.
