Fast and the Furious 5 announced..

Was always going to happen after the amazing OW of FF4:
Good to see they'll bring back the two main stars.
Walker & Diesel To Ride Again In Fast & Furious 5

Actor Paul Walker has confirmed reports he'll be back for a fourth Fast & Furious film.
The movie hunk, who has played Brian O'Conner in three of the four films in the franchise, felt sure the new film would "close out the franchise", but the movie's breathtaking opening-week success has prompted him and producers to change gear and think again.
The film almost doubled estimates when it opened in the U.S. with a whopping $72.5 million (£50 million) haul last weekend (03-05Apr09), and now Walker is keen to get behind the wheel of the racing film franchise again - for a trip to South America.
Appearing on Los Angeles radio show Valentine in The Morning on Friday, he said, "This was supposed to be it... Without question, the way that thing's opened up, Vin (Diesel, co-star) and I will be coming back. We're making a fifth one and we're going to Brazil. That's it!
"And I don't think the best one (film) has been done yet. I think we could easily come back and make the best one."
Good to see they'll bring back the two main stars.

This sounds similar to the long delayed project The Brazilian Job. Does this annoucement mean that The Brazilian Job will finally get made and attempt to beat 5 Fast 5 Furious into theatres?

Meh. I liked the new one, but what can they really do different? And if it's the same, what's the point?

I don't really think you can call it beating a dead horse when its recent box office success has proven that this horse is very much alive.

I don't think it has anything to do w/ the box office success...to me the "horse" is the idea/concept of the movie...and yes, they are beating that thing over, and over, and over, and over again....also, I just thought the picture was funny

I just caught the first ten minutes or so, the opening sequence right before the titles. It was pretty bad, but it's exactly why people go see the movie...Hot chicks, fast cars, impossible stunts...I hate american moviegoers.

I guess that it's a good time to reveal my dream project.
A family of criminals. A crime spree spanning the majority of Route 66. Masses of cops, cars and admirers on the run. Watch bodies pile up, blood spew onto the screen and large amounts of classic cars get destroyed on screen. No CGI whatsoever. Three hours of action, comedy, drama, romance and everything but the kitchen sink in this movie.
I have Viggo Mortensen and Jennifer Connelly in mind for the ringleaders and Steve Martin in mind to play the overzealous leader of the police force.
Some scenes may be shot in 70mm.
