Hey, I'm doing well in this so far. Next week will be interesting though. Both myself and JackO as the top players have picked 4 Christmases and Bolt, and there seems to be a strong possibility Twilight will run away with another win. You never know which way this is gonna go...

JackO picked Twilight, actually... So I don't think you'll be tied because one way or the other I think 4 Xmases or Twilight will win.

Taking the estimates as true, (winners of 4 Christmases and Milk), Silver Surfer is perfect with JackO, Transformers, and Donte right on his heels! Let me know if the actuals don't reflect 4 Christmases and Milk winning their respective catagories. Thanks.

Wow, wasn't expecting to still be top now, especially with all correct. I guess that I'll lose my 100% record in the next week or so though...

Updated again. Almost forgot this week. SS slipped off of his surfboard just long enough to let Donte catch up. Both are at an almost-perfect 9 out of 10 with a glut of 8ers right on their talis and me and Buscemi in last.

This will be a make-or-break weekend. Everyone has TDESS, but the PTA winner is split between Doubt, Reader, the Class and Che. Funny, when you consider Torino might take it after all.

Though I'm probably destined to be the loser, I find this fun. You want to make more picks starting in February? Or do you usually do something similar during the Summer? It may have even been better to do a "Beat the Columnists" with a seperate section just to try to beat Chien at PTA picks.

Ahhhh, okay. You've kind of gotten me into all this. Even if there are others that may turn out to be better suited at picking the winners in the end, I don't mind continuing the trend. Just remind me when the time comes.

This weekends PTA winner could be absolutely anybody. There are 4 solids picks in a few theaters and any of them could win. I am pretty sure we are all going to get TDTESS correct barring some catastophic occurrence.

Actually, Donte, the first post of this thread has everyone's "slate" (I guess we'll call it that) for this game. And we can't change once the season starts because it's about forseeing the future, I guess.

And there are STILL no indie picks for 1/30. As of now, the only films slated for release on that date are:

New in Town (aka Chilled in Miami)
The Uninvited
Taken

This weekend is now less than two months away, and any "small" films will probably be last-minute throw-ins. And I'm not all that convinced that New in Town won't be bumped back, as it's the only major January release without a trailer.

New In Town has a trailer but it's probably not on the Internet. Meanwhile, This Side Of The Truth has been pushed back to late 2009 and A Perfect Getaway has a new title. I forget what it is though.

The Class moved to 1/30

It does? That's news to me... as of this moment, BOM, IMDb and ComingSoon all have it at that title... but we'll see I guess. And comingsoon is usually on top of date changes, but they having made one yet concerning This Side.

And The Class has not "moved", per se. It is being released on 12/19 for a one-week Oscar run; it'll be re-released in NY/LA on 1/30. However, for game purposed, I have to list it as 12/19.

It is JackO... and it also isn't... They are putting it out for one week on 12/19 wherever they have to for an "Oscar Run". Then they are pulling it on 12/26. Then they are "opening" it on 1/30 in NY/LA.

It's now called Middle Of Nowhere. The title should appear on a forthcoming trailer (probably with Valkyrie, a film I have no interest in seeing).

There was really no change in standings since one was all but assured and the other was impossible to pick since it had a date change. Donte and SS still in the lead.
