That, and reality...

Rented this one thinking how bad can any movie with John Malkovich in it be, and then I found out.
I didn't even need the rest of the review after that sentence. LOL
Buscemi wrote:I thought fap was the Dutch term for masturbating.
Epic fail for me.
I have no idea what fap means but I am tired of "Fail" also.
Re: An Idea Part 3: Same $h!t, Different Thread
We really need to start hiring a task force of armed men who will just be sent around during certain instances to put a bullet in someone's head for crimes against humanity.
Anyone who uses the term fail would be at the top of their list.

Damn, never realized I was this far out of it. Don't even know what this whole "Fail" thing is that you guys are talking about

I loathe people who say "Fail" in real life. It's OK on the internet I guess. Anyway...
G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra - 6.5/10
It delivers the cool, clean, loud, harmless action fun with great set pieces, dashes of humor, and sexy women in leather. The acting is sub-par, probably the main weak point, but the car chase through the streets of Paris is pretty amazing. The Joes and the villian squad are little too coincidently connected, I don't know if that's from the cartoon, but it's a bit matchy-matchy for me. They also throw in the old tag-lines for good measure. Better than Wolverine and Transformers, but nowhere near Star Trek.

Did they put a moral lesson and have the Joes say "And knowing is half the battle!" at the end?

I've never heard fap, or fail (at least out of context). Weird.

Didn't the whole fail thing stem from failblog.org ? IT's a pretty funny site

It would increase the movie's score by 1.25 stars if they did.
Other words people should NEVER use in conversation;
Bounce to mean leave.
Whatev instead of whatever. Saying whatever is bad enough.
Fierce. I am so fucking tired of hearing that word associated with anything that isn't actually fierce.
Also anytime the letter "Z" is used instead of an "S" in a word I want to punch them in the asshole.

We definitely need to hang out sometime.

I hate it when people say chillaxin'. Which probably means I'll have to marry someone at least five years older than me.

G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra **.5/****
The movie that Transformers should have been. Two hours of B-movie action with an ensemble cast and a plot similar to the cartoon. Plus, Rachel Nichols is far sexier than Megan Fox (and Nichols can act too). In short, it's some good brain candy and it never gets dull or ridiculous. It's just pure entertainment.
P.S.: Sienna Miller looked like a really sexy version of Sarah Palin in this.

Re: An Idea Part 3: Same $h!t, Different Thread
Watched a couple of movies over the last week.
Bruno 6/10. Went too far when it didn't need to. Very slow in parts as well. Did get some big laughs from me though.
Public Enemies 8/10. I really liked it. Some of it was too stylized for its own good, but the performances and the direction were spot on.
The Ugly Truth 6.5/10. Started off really well, but then got into the predictable sappy romcom mode. Still not a bad attempt.
Drag Me to Hell 9/10. Easily the best of the bunch. I love this genre and Sam Raimi is its king. It got laughs and shrieks out of the audience.

A Perfect Getaway - 7/10
Really good example of a satisfying B-movie thriller. I think the fact that all the leads are really likable and relatable made it so much better. And it's nice to see Milla Jovovich play a normal person, I swear I've never seen her smile and laugh so much. Timothy Olyphant finally plays a good role for once too.
