Re: Happy Birthday to...
My list (cheating some b/c I'm actually identifying SEVEN...SE7EN, heh... films):
[1] Se7en
[2] The Shawshank Redemption
[3] (tie) Glory;
[4] Unforgiven
[5] Driving Miss Daisy; Deep Impact
P.S. Don't give me shit about Deep Impact, either. Freeman conveys more Presidential gravitas with merely his anxious pinky finger than Michael Douglas did in the entirety of The American President.

He's played Lucius Fox, the President, and God. Some resume!

Does Morgan Freeman ever do a bad job in a movie? Okay, other than the "in it for the paycheck" role in Lucky Number Slevin.
1.The Shawshank Redemption
2.Lean On Me
3.Seven
4.Street Smart (Freeman as a pimp. Superman as a reporter. Rent it and you'll see why Freeman got an Academy Award nomination for this small Cannon release)
5.Glory
Honorable Mentions:
Million Dollar Baby
Gone Baby Gone
Batman Begins/The Dark Knight
Driving Miss Daisy (1989 was a good year for Freeman)

Morgan Freeman
I'm going to go off book.
1. 10 items or Less
2. Shawshank
3. Wanted
4. Bruce Almighty
5. The Dark Knight
How could you guys not love the "Shoot this motherfucker!" monologue!?
And I fully expect The Human Factor to take that number one spot.

Re: Happy Birthday to...
Hmm... I'll go my favorite performances rather than the best films (I haven't seen enough of Sleven to include it).
1. Driving Miss Daisy
2. Glory
3. Shawshank Redemption
4. Bruce Almighty
5. Nurse Betty (Chris Rock and him were hilarious back and forth)
I love practically everything the guy touches... I thought The Bucket List was great...

Happy Birthday!
My top 5 Morgan Freeman performances:
(no particular order; that's like ranking your kids from favourite to unfavourite)
Glory
Nurse Betty
Lean on Me
Seven
Shawshank Redemption
I had great difficulty not putting 'Hard Rain' and 'Driving Miss Daisy' on this list.
