Star Trek is...
officially the highest grossing movie of the year so far, just passing MvA, who'da thunk it??
http://boxofficemojo.com/yearly/chart/?yr=2009&p=.htm
If you would have asked me at the bigging of the year I would have said Wolverine, MvA, Terminator, Night at the Museum (still has a chance, but doubtful), Watchmen, and Angels and Demons would have all been higher...count me stupid!
Shows what happens when you actually make a really good movie (take note T4 director and writers!)

I find it funny how all my frineds a few months ago were threatening anybody who saw the new Star Trek, and then they ended up seeing it several times and call it their new favorite movie.

I find it funny that nobody responded to this thread until I pasted some hilarious pics of Trekkies on it (note to self for future reference).

I find it funny that George Lucas isn't getting any of the credit for Star Wars 7
Re: Star Trek is...
I dont know how different this movie is to the original star trek, but maybe star wars is the one that was copying star trek.

Which came first? Star Trek or Star Wars? Let the nerdy debate begin!

Re: Star Trek is...
I'm pretty sure the reason this film has been so acclaimed and so popular amongst casual fans is because it strayed from the typical mold of Star Trek, and from what I have seen of Star Trek (very limited) that was the case.

Star Trek beat Star Wars to the punch by eleven years, sir.

Re: Star Trek is...
I'm not sure if this is true, but I think I've read somewhere that die hard Trekkie's and die hard Star Wars fans hate each other with a passion...can anyone confirm this?
