The State Of The Forum
Does anyone believe that the forum has been, well, dead lately? It seems that little has been going on and that things are never going to pick up.

Re: The State Of The Forum
Well, Mr. Doom-and-Gloom, I wouldn't go writing the obit just yet.
Yes, it's been a little slow. Chien and Mr. I have had their respective difficulties in finding time to post. The box-office has been a little bit down, and with the relative flop of Watchmen, it seems there's little to talk about. I think it's only temporary, though. People are still submitting changes to their Super Leagues rosters on a Regular basis, and even though a few people have dropped out, I don't think it's going to become pandemic.
If there continues to be a lull, I have a feeling it will end when the summer season begins, if not sooner.

Re: The State Of The Forum
Definitely slowing down. I think it's because the forum has limitations.. Only so many people are interested in this game, and i'm sure with it being on a forum now instead of a whole gaming module people will be less likely to play. As is the fact that less people partake in these kinds of games during these months..
Hopefully it picks up.. This just shows that we gotta come up with a way QUICK to find out how to do a real FM type website..
Shryke, can you talk to the people you used to contact on FM and ask them about their gaming module? Maybe it's buyable or something like that?

I can try, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. They've turned down offers like that when they were shutting down, and I wouldn't be surprised if their contact e-mails have been closed down. I haven't heard from Cody (Mr. Funktastic) in months either.
God, I feel so helpless sometimes. I wish I had ANY skill as far as website-building goes, or at least, the ability to finance the building of such a site. If only those damned Powerball numbers were to come in..

Re: The State Of The Forum
I stopped coming on as much because of the constant pop-ups. Or I come on, check everything and then log off. I even have Ad-Aware running along with my anti virus and I still get them. That isn't the only reason but I doubt it is helping...
Re: The State Of The Forum
I don't get pop-ups either. But then again, maybe it's just the perks about being a moderator.

install a FRESH copy of the newest version of firefox.. (after fully uninstalling your old version and rebooting).. update AdAware's software and definitions.. run a full scan.. consider trying AVG (a free virus-scanner that might detect anything else fishy going on in your system).. and also consider installing the AdBlock firefox add-on..
the site is clean

Re: The State Of The Forum
Nope.. There shouldn't be any popups at all. Very weird. I suggest turning on pop-up blocker and putting this website in the list so no popups come from this site.
Re: The State Of The Forum
Yep sounds like you have adware Donte.. less porn.
I run firefox with the NoScript addon, it blocks everything!

Re: The State Of The Forum
I've been contributing more, if that means anything. Then again, that's probably mostly due to my recent banning from the JoBlo site. I usually post over there more since there's more people, hence more opinions.
But I just figured my way around that IP ban so my contributions may start running low again. But I'll try not to let that happen.
And I never get pop-ups from this site.

How did you get banned from JoBlo? Did you make fun of his love of Battlefield Earth or something?

Re: The State Of The Forum
I got into an e-argument with some other posters about Mickey Rourke's dog, Loki, and it got pretty offensive. But somehow, I was the only one banned, wasn't given a reason, and they never answered any of my emails.
So I decided to return, bypassing thier IP ban with a proxy and either: return to normal posting or wreak havoc and see how many times I can get banned in a week.
I haven't decided yet exactly.

Re: The State Of The Forum
Damn. I hope you were defending Loki, because Mickey Rourke is a man about his dogs. And I wouldn't want to fuck around with a man like Mickey Rourke. His (plastic surgery marred) face alone gives nightmares.

How DARE YOU!?!?!? I will never give up porn. NEVER!!!!!!!!!!
Oh and I didn't mean that this site was the reason for the pop-ups. I get them all the time on this computer from a lot of websites. It has antivirus and adaware but it isn't exactly on the firewall since I am just getting wireless internet from our server. My work computer is on the server directly so I have no problems on it.
I just tried updating everything and doing a scan and it found some shit on here.
And I am still using IE. I know, how caveman of me huh?

I've been really busy with extra curricular stuff and by the time I get on, all my creative energy to think of snappy and witty replies are all used up.

Yeah right, I was making fun of people who were all sad that a dog they'd never met and owned by a person they'd never met had died. That's like being sad because Jim Robertson of Ithaca, New York's pet dog, Robo, died. Who gives a shit?
And yes, Mickey's face has passed "scary" onto a level of Freddy Kreuger proportions.

Re: The State Of The Forum
I am continuing to have trouble on my home computer. Every time I try to navigate around this site, it somehow loses its connection (appearing as "Not responding" on my Task Manager), and I have to exit out and start all over again. I can only seem to access it without errors from work (which is frowned upon). I'm hoping that next month, I'll buy a new computer and everything will be all right again.
Anyone else having this problem?
