I'm in the same boat- I've been more careful about seeing films, so I haven't really seen anything I considered terrible- mostly disappointing.

Jeez [not Geez], I thought this was supposed to be fun. And y'know I kinda was when assembling my list until I read this thread. I mean, I did put myself through some of The Hottie and The Nottie, and I will admit it is one of the worst things I have ever allowed my eyes to witness, but even then, I doubt it was the worst film made last year. I'm sure there were hundreds, no thousands, of movies which would rank below that turd of a movie. But we didn't get to see them. The Razzies only ever pick for their awards movies which are notorious, i.e there is an actor or director well know for producing crap. I bet they had half the nominations ready an waiting last January in the knowledge of what films were being released (kinda like the way the Academy does when it knows which movies will pick up the Oscars as they are released in December). That to me makes those awards a little dull.

At least we have our opinions and can vote on the worst movies we actually saw. In that respect we will have a very diverse selection (probably more so than the best awards) because we all have different opinions on what makes a movie bad. Yes, it may seem harsh when a movie which is probably a 5 or 6 is nominated, but really if we were honest with each other, The Hottie and The Nottie is probably a 1-2, and there would have been plenty which didn't even reach that. Did anyone go and seek them out in the video store just to prove there was a worse film than THANN (as the turd shall now be known)? Probably not. So I guess the whole awarss is pointless, because we didn't see that movie made by the seven year old kids in Iran about the art of tiddlywinks?

Anyway, I digress. These awards should just be making note of films which really disappointed us. Maybe not to the extent that it made you want to hurl your guts from a rooftop and proclaim never to want to see Paris Hilton's squirmy little face again in your life, but enough for us to write it down on here and make it known. I'll still be submitting my list, to whoever wants to take it on, and I hope we see the awards up here soon.

Let me just throw my hat in the ring to agree with this statement:

If you were looking for specific nominations, why did you open it for everyone to participate? It seems like a huge overreaction to cancel the whole shebang because someone nominated a movie someone else enjoyed.

Yea, and I agree with what most of yall have said. I'm not going to waste my time watching a bad movie so i can fill out a list. It wouldn't matter anyway, worst is subjective. for example^^^. I will too submit a list for whoever wants to put them together.

Plus, I'm sure that some of the nominations for the best awards are from movies that you wouldn't consider to be good. That's why everyone has a voice here. And for the record, no one is right or wrong about this. Opinions can't be considered either right or wrong, they are just opinions. None are more important than anyone else's.
