Re: Daily Trivia Question - Honor System
I've been a way, but I'm back. I think the last 3(?) questions haven't got answers yet. so I'll go with B ($300 000),C (director), and B (Red River).

Re: Daily Trivia Question - Honor System
The answer to Question #7 was A., $285,000,000
You can see Spielberg's thoughts on 'Lawrence of Arabia' here as he talks about the impact it had on his career, what it was like to meet and work with David Lean and his thoughts about why a remake wouldn't work anyway, even outside of budgetary considerations:
Correct answers were to Banks, mfrendo and leestu.
Totals after 7 questions:
6 - Buscemi
4 - Tranny, Donte, mfrendo, leestu
3 - W., Banks
The answer to Question # 8 was A., Worst original song.
The song in question was 'Peace In Our Life' by Frank Stallone and... I'm going to post it below because I'm a terrible friend, *lol*
The Director (that was my guess since I play along at home too) was George Cosmatos who had an uneven career. Lowlights like this and highlights like 'Tombstone.'

Re: Daily Trivia Question - Honor System
I'll assume you're putting 'Cobra' on the 'Rambo First Blood Part 2' side of the equation.
Oops, forgot to add in the totals after 8 questions:
7 - Buscemi
5 - Tranny
4 - Donte, mfrendo, leestu, W
3 - Banks
Final answers to come after I get guesses from mfrendo on the last two questions but Tranny mathematically eliminated himself by choosing the same answer as Buscemi in the final question. My congratulations to Buscemi for having (at a minimum) 7 answers correct.

I will go with A, Always Jimmy. I have no idea. LOL
BTW Roodey, posting that Frank Stallone song slid you farther down my friend list than all of those Stryper videos I watched combined. Dick. LOL

Re: Daily Trivia Question - Honor System
That reminds me that First Blood 2 had a lot in common with Exorcist: The Heretic in that the best part of each movie was the inserted scenes from the previous movie.
Re: Daily Trivia Question - Honor System
*lol* So you're saying you don't want me to send you anything by 'Crusader' or 'Holy Soldier' then?
Just finished doing a bit of shopping and have some awesome tunes on the way for myself. Got these guys on the way:

Only if you would like to be woken up in the middle of the might with an angry Donte stalking you through your house with a club made of petrified goat penii.

Agreed. It gets my vote for best movie ever followed by a terrible, useless sequel.
"Let's make a sequel to a horror movie!"
"Great idea! Anything in mind?"
"Yeah, The Exorcist."
"Wow, great idea. You got Friedkin and Blatty?!"
"No, but it will be fine, I have some top notch replacements, 2 screenwriter's with no credits and a mediocre director."
"Sounds good to me. When do we start filming?"
"Well we already have a lot of it done since we will use footage from the first one and the rest of the movie will be dialogue in a doctor's office. We only need 1 set."
"Brilliant, it will be a masterpiece."
Hate hollywood sometimes...
Re: Daily Trivia Question - Honor System
John Boorman isn't that mediocre. He at least gave us Excalibur.

The Heretic was bad, but at least it's forgettable. Meanwhile, we'll always remember Deliverance and Excalibur.
Another good Boorman film was Point Blank, where Lee Marvin played a hitman. People may be more familiar with the remake (Payback, with Mel Gibson) but it's definitely worth watching.

Re: Daily Trivia Question - Honor System
Thanks for waiting for a brother, Roode. Much appreciated. Been ultra busy with school and trying to get my film underway. Don't really know either answer, but I'll go with B for both.

Thanks for your attempted help Roodey but I answered B $300 000, so that puts me back at the bottom where I normally am (I must be one of the worst guessers around, but at least I get the ones I know correct!)

Re: Daily Trivia Question - Honor System
Final Answers:
The answer to Question #9 was B. Red River, which came out before 'High Noon.' Wayne and Hawks were both offended by the themes of 'High Noon' and sought to make a film where a man's friends would stand by him if he needed them. 'Rio Bravo' was the first attempt and 'Rio Lobo' and 'El Dorado' were both remakes of it. Hawks always denied they were remakes but watch all three of them and then tell me that they aren't.
The answer to Question # 10 was D., never. Jimmy Cagney to all of us, James Cagney always received proper credit in his movies with his given name.
Final scores:
8 - Buscemi
5 - Tranny, mfrendo
4 - Donte, W, leestu
3 - Banks
Well played everyone! I guess along at home and managed only a 6/10 on my own quiz so it wasn't an overly easy one, but a fun one I hope nevertheless. Congratulations to Buscemi on an astonishing performance. Well-played sir! The next quiz is yours.
