All I'm saying, you don't hear these stories coming from people going to see Paul Blart. I don't think that's a coincidence.
Re: NEWS OF THE WEIRD: Stories of the strange, the sublime, the supernatural, the silly and the stupefying
But you do hear those stories coming from Saw films. . .

4 PEOPLE STABBED AT SAW V SCREENING
In shocking news you’ll never believe (SNYNB), people who like torture porn may share a predilection for violence.
Four men suffered neck wounds and four others were arrested after a wild altercation early Saturday morning at a Times Square movie theater packed with young people.
The chaotic scene in and around the AMC Empire 25 on West 42nd Street began as hundreds came and went from ” Saw V,” which the theater was showing on five screens with starting times spaced a half-hour apart.
A fight broke out in the theater just before 1 a.m., and a large number of people scattered, a police source said.
A short time later, two 22-year-old men and a 25-year-old man were stabbed or cut on the back of the neck at the corner of 42nd Street and Broadway, about a half-block from the theater, police said. The 25-year-old man suffered the most serious injury. None of the injuries was considered life-threatening, authorities said. Police said it was believed that all of those involved had been at the theater. [Newsday via RoboPanda]
Wait, so they only hurt other Saw fans, right? Phew. Now you know why we send them to special schools. In order to deal with this problem, I say we just put locks on the theater doors, and maybe do a promotional push. Say, a Machetes ‘n’ PCP night. And thus, one hand washes the other.
It's amazing the generalizations and stereotypes I've been seeing since the release of Notorious.

Wow! People were acting violent after seeing an ultra-violent film!!! Shocking!!
Re: NEWS OF THE WEIRD: Stories of the strange, the sublime, the supernatural, the silly and the stupefying
Too bad Saw fans and Notorious fans aren't the part of the same demographic. And needless to say, I can't wait to see how John Dillinger and the rest of the mob gets glorified when Public Enemies comes out . . . .

expand on this, if you can... i imagine they overlap quite a bit.. (this isn't to say that either movie "prompts" or "inspires" violence... hell, out of the three, i imagine Paul Blart would have me leaving the theater angriest, lol)JackO wrote: Too bad Saw fans and Notorious fans aren't the part of the same demographic.

Soooo....excuses can be made for a stabbing at a Saw screening, but not for gunshots at a Notorious screening?
That sounds a little, ahem, racist.

Re: NEWS OF THE WEIRD: Stories of the strange, the sublime, the supernatural, the silly and the stupefying
That wasn't my point Banks. Violence could be expected from both films, one is a brutal horror film, another is a biopic about a man who lived a violent life and died a violent death. I wasn't making excuses for anyone. My original point was that I do not understand the appeal for a film like Notorious. It does not surprise me that people that would be drawn to watch a movie about B.I.G. would be prone to violence. What race they are doesn't matter.

why? i suppose you know more about these incidents than me--but the articles i read didn't specifically say what ethnicity either group of kids are..... so, are you assuming the violent kids at Notorious were black and the violent kids at Saw were white?

Only if it was super-sized....

...and the fat guy, with only 9 friends, sheds a single tear for the burger that almost-was but is never-to-be.

It just goes to show that maybe abortion isn't a bad idea after all... If not then some of these people should have been drowned before they were old enough to breed and pass on their stupid genes to a new generation.

My ex sister-in-law used to believe that everyone should be neutered at 13 and then you would have to pass a test in order to get it undone. I mean if you have to pass a test to drive a car......

Some friends and I favor the IQ/Common sense test right before puberty. If you fail, you are sterilized. I was all up for killed but we decided we will always need people to bus tables and clean restrooms...

Thanks for the correction. Lost a few too many brain cells at the game last night.
Re: NEWS OF THE WEIRD: Stories of the strange, the sublime, the supernatural, the silly and the stupefying
You and Shryke should not speak to each other over the next 2 weeks, lol.
- Spoiler:
- Go Cardinals! They Deserve it.
Re: NEWS OF THE WEIRD: Stories of the strange, the sublime, the supernatural, the silly and the stupefying
Geez,
We're actually enjoying both of our teams being in the Super Bowl. I have a healthy respect for the Cardinals as they are pretty much Pittsburgh West with 6 ex-Steelers on their team as well as their head and assistant coaches being ex-Steelers' coaches. 2 of their other players both went to Pitt and one of their players went to my local high school.

Eagles couldn't win and Steelers couldn't lose.

Now I have to pick one of them for the Super Bowl and my UPS driver is wanted the Cards which means I have to take the Steelers. Grrr.

Re: NEWS OF THE WEIRD: Stories of the strange, the sublime, the supernatural, the silly and the stupefying
Donte the Cards have to win! Never bet against God and Puppies!!! Never bet against the team that has "No one believed in us but the guys in the locker room!" You can not bet against this Cardinals team, they have too much in their favor! All the Steelers have is the fact that they are the better team. And well, look how well that worked for New England last year!

Yeah, but Geez, All week long I had to listen to Ray Lewis tell us about how God helped the Ravens get this far, and God did this for the Ravens, and God takes care of players who pray like he does. How'd that work out for him last night?
Guess he also forgot that God sends murderers to Hell.
