Ok, the ultimate question is, with all the hype and staged advertising, how much BO?

Borat made around $125M, which is pretty good, i really have no idea but im thinking Bruno can get about $150M.

What do you think?

I think Bruno will make less than Borat. The character just doesn't have the same appeal as Borat. Also, I don't expect the acclaim and word of mouth to be as good due to the film's content.

I Think Bruno Can do 130-140. The advertising has been through the roof and the trailer is getting a great reaction.

I still think it might be too gay for some people, but it's being advertised like crazy. I'd say $100-$120M.

I think it is going to have a monster opening weekend but awful legs. But has anyone seen the theater counts? Only 2,700 for Bruno and 1,900 for Beth Cooper? Those seem low.

I think Bruno is capable of 50 million opening weekend. The ads have been great, the trailers are showing a lot of different material instead of just the same jokes again and again. I think that is one of the key factors that allowed The Hangover to breakout. This should play out like a sequel. Im a little unsure of calling for 50 million out of only 2,700 theaters but Borat made 26.7 from only 800. I think this has a perfect storm of no competition, great marketing, and media controversy to really suprise this weekend.


Beth Cooper can only hope for Nick and Nore numbers at this point with a venue count of only 1,900.


It will also be intersesting to see how the holdovers preform this weekend. Will Ice Age and Public Enemies pull of Armageddon style holds? I say yes. Will Transformers and My Sisters Keeper level off after huge drops? A little bit. The Proposal should have a great hold exspecialy after its great hold last weekend, as it looks to be the only film with no direct competiton until the Ugly Truth. And how will the Hangover do against Bruno? I think ok

10.5 for Beth Cooper??? I can't see that...speaking of seeing...I haven't seen one trailer for it...where is the marketing?

Yeah, ILYBC has very little marketing. I've only seen a handful of TV spots, nothing compared to Bruno. Plus USA has been showing Borat and of course pushing Bruno hard as hell during that. I don't think $50M is possible though, I'd put it's ceiling at $35-$40.

I'm thinking Bruno will be 40/120 and Beth Cooper will be 9/22.

I Love You, Beth Cooper won't even hit $5 million. The studio is basically dumping this film and the trailers are just awful.

Also, is it me or does the lead actor look like he's at least 30?

thats weird...i dont watch a lot of tv but i assumed it was being given a decent push. Either way Beth Cooper is going to be a non factor this weekend or any other weekend

If we have learned ANYTHING from tracking this year, it is that it is completely useless.

Personally i think there is alot of hype for Bruno. The only movie that has a similar audience is The Hangover and that's already run most of it's course.

Low 30s for G-Force? Bullshit. Not on Harry Potter's 2nd weekend.

And yeah Busc, the guy from Beth Cooper looks old as fuck. I think he's only 29 in real life, but he looks at least 35. What a stupid casting decision, considering how many early 20 White guys they could've got for the role. Shit, if you're gonna go with an unknown, at least have him look the part.

G Force could be right given that Beverly Hill Chihuahua saw similair numbers...why i have no idea.

The Ugly Truth will have no problem breaking 20 mill.

I'm going to say that The Ugly Truth do well now. Though the plot looks way too much like a bad Dane Cook/insert beautiful but not very talented actress here vehicle, Heigl and Butler have far more appeal and charisma in their pinkies than Dane Cook has in his whole body.

And Orphan should do average numbers. Maybe more if Warner Bros. decides to play the DiCaprio aspect on it (yes boys and girls, Leonardo DiCaprio produced Orphan).
