haha, if you REALLY can't sit through it again--i understand..

BUT it's only a mere 79 minutes long--and, when seen in conjunction with Ed Wood, the source material is rendered (almost) endearing

or, i suppose, you could watch the Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode where they mock Bride of the Monster (1955)

I'll pop a couple of tylenol and sit through it. Again!

Also, I feel a bit guilty. I diligently watch everything we pick but haven't written any responses. I'm a passive member of the club which isn't actually great for keeping it going. I'm invisibly active if that makes any sense!

Incidentally, 'Plan Nine From Outer Space' is on Youtube if anyone actually wants to watch it. It amuses me that 16,000 watched the first part and only 7000 made it beyond the ten minute mark.

On August 20th, about 1,000 US theatres will be doing a "one night only" show of Plan 9 From Outer Space. Mike Nelson will be hosting the showing and there will be a RiffTrax soundtrack (also featuring Nelson) playing with the film.

Attention Movie-Clubbers (much more respectable than seal-clubbers, eh?):
in light of this news, i have bumped the film up on the schedule.. so get your hands on a copy of Ed Wood, and try to catch the special screening of Plan 9 on August 20th at a theater near you!

Now I understand why this has the reputation it does. This was a bad movie, and even loving Ed Wood (the movie, not the man) did not help make it enjoyable to watch. The only positive thing I can find to say about this movie is that I liked what the aliens were trying to say during the verbal argument with the humans, but even that was poorly written dialogue. How atrocious was the acting by the detective that was killed at the beginning of the movie? I am guessing he was cast because he did pull a great 'zombie face'. 2/10 for the laughs.
