BanksIsDaFuture's 1000th Post Spectacular!!!!
Yes, yes indeedy. I've hit a milestone for myself, 1000 posts and counting. I've been helped by the lack of a job or school, which in September will both be rectified. So it'll slow down considerably.
And now I will be stealing from Buscemi and opening myself up for any random questions you have for His Holiness (me).
Random but many respects to anyone who knows this guy:

That's the guy from Coming to America isn't it? The guy who's dad got rich off the hair care product? I'm like, "Is that guy Lionel Richie, or the guy from that Eddie Murphy movie?"
How are you lost in the midwest if you could choose what school you went to?

I'm going to school to be a writer, majoring in English.
And the schools I was accepted to were both in Ohio, what I mean by lost is that I'm a NYer at heart. It doesn't make much sense, but then again, when has that stopped me before?
And yeah, that's Darryl from Coming To America. His picture came up when I image searched "1,000" for some weird reason.

Why is it that you are so behind in seeing some of the classic movies (such as the Star Wars Trilogy)?

Coming To America was probably John Landis's last really good movie. Nowadays, he tends to be hit (Innocent Blood, Deer Woman, Slasher) or miss (Blues Brothers 2000).

It's probably because I didn't become interested in movies until 2003. I remember Kill Bill Vol. 1 was the first movie I really anticipated, and it was also the first Tarantino movie I'd seen. I know I really need to go back and catch the classics. Maybe after I finish college. I will watch the 6 Star Wars movies this summer though, that's my promise to myself. And hopefully I'll watch the LOTR movies since everyone says they're amazing.

My boss threatened to fire me when I told him I'd never seen them. I guess I can just wait til they get re-released in 3D in the next couple of years.

What do you mean, "dated"? The books have been around for decades! If you've never seen the movies, there's no BAD time to watch them!
Re: BanksIsDaFuture's 1000th Post Spectacular!!!!
Yeah, the books might have held up great, but the movies really needed to be seen in or around their original release to be fully appreciated. Just like any revolutionary special-effects laden epic.

Re: BanksIsDaFuture's 1000th Post Spectacular!!!!
If I had to choose one, I'd say comedy. I'll watch any comedy once. Except if it's Monty Python, that shit sucks. My roommate freshman year used to watch it all day and I wanted to kill myself. I can't comment on British humor as a whole, but I watched something called The Mighty Boush and it's safe to say that that might've been some of the worst television I've ever laid eyes on.
Other than comedy, I'm always down for some sci-fi, and horror. But only the violent kind of horror like TCM or Hostel. I don't really like the creepy stuff like The Grudge. Jumpscares annoy me.
Oddly, I do not like action movies. I think a dialogue heavy movie is more interesting than just having shit blow up for no reason.
