i've seen the long Shutter Island trailer twice now in the theater.. i feel like it reveals WAY too much... i mean, how much else could they even squeeze into that movie that wasn't included in the trailer?

Full-fledged Expendables trailer:

That looks exactly how I thought it would, but it's not even really a trailer. I mean, it feels like it's just an abridged version of the movie. I wish more crappy movies would come in Cliff's Notes versions.

I kinda feel it's gonna be terrible. But a lot of fun to watch.

Edge of Darkness Trailer 1

Looks very cool, I can see why they put this on the same weekend that Taken opened on last year. Riggs is BACK!

New trailers this week

On prints on Law Abiding Citizen:

new The Road
Edge of Darkness
new Brothers (I think)

On prints of The Stepfather:

Dear John (looks just like The Notebook)

Nothing new on Where The Wild Things Are

I've unimpressed by Edge of Darkness. Looks like another standard thriller, like a Taken clone

With a little bit of Ransom thrown in? Sure.

EoD looks like another incredibly generic action thriller. It definitely reminds me of Taken, though. With the pseudo-espionage/terrorism aspect.

Dear John Trailer 1

Yes, it looks super-sappy and unoriginal. But still looks very promising, you guys had better bring the Kleenex for this one.

The Spy Next Door Trailer 1

Oh God, this is almost painful. Everytime Jackie Chan makes another one of these, I have to watch Rumble in The Bronx or Who Am I? to balance out the world. Plus, this seems like a ripoff of The Pacifer.

Seriously? This is what Richard Jenkins follows up 2008 (The Visitor, Step Brothers, Burn After Reading) with?

And seriously? Jackie Chan is trying to be Vin Diesel? What's really sad is that it may be this January's Paul Blart.

The Spy Next Door will be more like The Forbidden Kingdom. Children don't think of the legend the same as a fat, clumsy guy with a badge.

Meanwhile, trailer shown before Law Abiding Citizen:

Pirate Radio
Edge Of Darkness
Armored (new trailer)
The Fourth Kind
The Crazies

Pirate Radio should be interesting though the trailer makes it look like all the humor was left on the cutting room floor (or in the international version). However, Universal decided it was a good idea to show us Nick Frost without a shirt on (not pretty).

Edge Of Darkness looks like Taken (father avenges daughter plot) meets The Departed (the appearances of Boston and Ray Winstone) and should be interesting. However, my sister didn't know what the hell was going on.

The new trailer for Armored has a similar opening but features a much different second half. In the new trailer, it is revealed that the main villain (Columbus Short) stages the heist in order to save his house from foreclosure. Sounds a little too farfetched but I do trust Nimrod Antal as a director (after all, he is directing Predators).

The remake to The Crazies believe it or not actually looks better than the remake to Dawn Of The Dead. Maybe it helps than The Crazies was produced by Participant Media (the company that gave us high quality films such as An Inconvienent Truth, Good Night and Good Luck, The Kite Runner, The Informant!, Syriana, The Visitor and many others). This should have no problem doing well against a (reportedly) PG-rated Kevin Smith film and early 2010 whipping boy Takers.

Edge of Darkness looks good. Dear John looks okay for the wife and I can stare at Amanda Seyfried's tits when I get bored.

Spy looks fucking terrible. Just ugh.

Expendables is a dead link here but I found it on traileraddict. Looks hilariously cheesey.

Yeah, Spy Next Door looks like a teen going against an ancient Chinese warrior...

And I was just saying Spy Next Door is going to be January's family film that breaks out ala Paul Blart... But it looks like "The Pacifier."

I'm comparing by box office. I don't expect more than $50 million from it.
