I did about the same as you Busc, if memory serves. I still think HP will hold up to TF2 pretty well when all is said and done.

I put it on all of my BO slates and a few ULT slates. Half of my BO slates also have HP and all of my ULT slates have HP.

Harry Potter isn't winning two weekends in a row unless it grosses above 100M for the 3 day, and in order to do that, it will have to do what Revenge of the Fallen is doing right now.

Harry Potter will most definitely win its second weekend. It has absolutely no competition that week (unless you count G-Force, which appeals more to the under 10 set).

2nd Weekend is Bruno and we all saw how The Hangover did. 3rd Weekend is G-Force and Ugly Truth both of which will do well.

Bruno opens the week BEFORE Harry Potter.

Also, I can't see The Ugly Truth doing well. The plot reeks of a bad Dane Cook vehicle and Gerard Butler is not suited for that type of comedy.

So, RDJ in blackface isn't racist but some CGI robots are? Seriously?

Apparently Michael Bay is this era's D.W. Griffith. What they call good clean fun, we call old fashioned racism.

I particularly loved this line: "Bay said the twins' parts "were kind of written but not really written, so the voice actors is when we started to really kind of come up with their characters.""

Did I mention the writers of this film were lazy? Even I didn't think they were that lazy.

I repeat, RDJ in blackface isn't racist but CGI robots are?

It doesn't even matter, because Revenge of the Fallen is going to gross over 400 million. I truly feel sorry for the suckers who took Harry Potter.

The writers of the film are the SAME PEOPLE who wrote Star Trek! But i forgot that's the best film EVA!

No it wasn't. They just stole everything from Star Wars. I've gone on record as saying that. Star Trek wasn't even that much better than Transformers 2, and where it really lacked was in its writing. That just confirms it that these writers are the worst writers ever. I hope they never get another movie.

Jack, Transformers isn't going to cross $200 million for the weekend and $400 million total. This isn't The Dark Knight. It's just another disposable Michael Bay film.

Star Trek was better because the direction was better, but it did steal much from Star Wars.

As far as the RDJ argument, that part obviously (to me, at least) discussed the topic of racism in Hollywood (which is even talked about in the movie). The TF2 characters did not discuss it at all, nor was it meant to be. There's a big difference between having a film that deals with racism satirically, and one that or is (or at least comes off) as deriding another culture.

They also wrote the first Transformers, which you thought was great.

Well, success goes to people's heads. You lose the thirst for greatness after you achieve a masterpiece. They should have just retired.

well there goes its shot of hitting that 200 you wanted for 5 day. It brought in 27 million today so it would still need 113 million 3 day which I just dont see happening

$200 million was always going to be hard to do but ShowBizData is saying $28,645,000 for Thursday so it is possible. Unlikely, but possible.
