Up next Nick and Norah's iPod Something or Other

Just watched Stuck 7/10 Shocked Shocked Shocked

You get to see a naked woman fight
A man hit in the head with a hammer
A woman burn to death
A man get jabbed in the eye with a pen
A Dog lick a man's bone while sticking out of his body

All of these things are in one movie. And it has some really funny parts to boot.

That's Stuart Gordon for you. One of the most versatile and strange directors out there (a master of horror who also gave David Mamet his start by directing his plays).

Yes, I saw Stuck and liked it.

And David Mamet did do Redbelt. He also did House Of Games, Homicide, The Spanish Prisoner and Spartan and wrote The Untouchables, Hoffa, Hannibal (though in Hannibal's case, almost none of Mamet's dialogue appeared in the final cut) and several other films.

favorite three Stuart Gordon projects (by far) are Reanimator, Dagon, and Masters of Horror: The Black Cat.. i highly recommend the second to everybody and the third to anyone familiar with Poe's work..

i'd say From Beyond is 4th... and then i lump Fortress, Robot Jox, Dolls, Stuck, and Masters of Horror: Dreams in the Witch-House as bad--but good fun..

At least it gave my brain a rest before I watch Alice. The surreal classic horror one. I also have Stuck on my instant queue and might watch that instead. Decisions, decisions.

Damnit, Pack, now you tell me! I was standing in Blockbuster with Stuck in one hand and Let The Right One In in the other hand and I couldn't decide. I ultimately chose LTROI, but now I wish I'd gone with Stuck...

I decided to watch Stuck last night and it is exactly like how Pack described it. A nice escape film.

Will probably watch Taken and Alice for tonight and A&D matinee tomorrow.

I remember what that bad movie was that I previously forgot! It was the Tracey Fragments. It reminded me too much of Gummo. It was just a mess of a film. It wasn't that any of the performances were bad, it's just that the way it was edited and put together was disjointed.

Harvey (8/10): Not really a movie where you laugh out loud much, but you're constantly smililing at it (if that makes sense). Very funny, very whimsical. I'm not sure if I wanted them to show Harvey (the rabbit) just once or not.

I love Harvey, was that your first view? I think that's my favorite James Stewart role, not movie (Rear Window) but role.

I just watched King Kong (1933) for the 5th time with my 3 kids, I can't believe they liked it. Well actually they all only liked the parts with Kong but still it's amazing how that movie can still hold up today. BTW my kids are 5, 3, 1 so it's quite a feat.

I watched Dance of the Dead - 3/10

AMC had this on their top 10 horror films of the year, but it wasn't that good at all, not even in a bad way.

I'm also in the middle of The Edge of Heaven and so far it's alright, this is my first Turkish film and so far I like Turkish film.

Just finished The Edge of Heaven, I don't recommend, it was slow, It's broken up into different stories, 1st one is good, then you should just turn it off. 4/10

Not a good movie watching day. Crying or Very sad

I watched myself eat the greatest steak ever last night. We went to the Ruth's Chris Steakhouse last night and I had a filet. They boil their steaks in butter there and it is sooooo damned good. I'm so glad that I have a semi-wealthy in-law...

To combine these last two posts, I've thought before that it would be awesome to have a restaurant at the zoo where they served whatever died... I want to try Lion and Gorilla...
