Drag me to Hell

The Sam Raimi factor (returning to the horror scene), the only big studio horror of the summer, good marketing campaign, & if the word of mouth is solid can it reach 90-100 million?

Can it be the first (true) horror since The Grudge to get to 100 million?

hahahaa Nice. Smile

My friends and are are torn on Drag Me. It is Sam and we give Sam the benefit of the doubt. BUT it is yet another PG-13 horror film. I am tired of them, they are usually just watered down versions that the studio made to make them the extra few dollars that the 13 gains. I understand why they make them pg13, I just hate it.

Drag Me To Hell has a good chance at being a hit. There isnt many horror films coming out and its has a chance for sure. It does look awful though.

Even though O'Horten is still listed on BOM as being released this weekend, I went to the film's official website, and it says that it is being released in select theaters in NY, LA and SF next Friday.

Didn't want to alarm any of those few who took it.

Wont argue with you there, but $50M is looking like the ceiling for AD for the weekend.

Did anybody go by mase's numbers anyways, they usually came in on friday, when it was too late to change your slate. Not too big a loss, IMO.

And let's face it, Mase's numbers have been off quite a few times this year w/ all the odd shit happening (i.e. Paul Blart raking it in, Watchmen barely reaching 100M)...but I still trusted his numbers better than any of the other sources.

Shryke, why don't you fill Mase's shoes? You could start making calls to his hollywood contacts...here's how the conversation would go:

Shryke: "Hi I'm Shryke."

Hollywood contact: "Who the fuck is Shryke."

Shryke: "I represent the Fantaverse."

Hollywood contact: "What the fuck is the Fantaverse."

Shryke: "We play in fantasy movie leagues."

Hollywood contact: "Sounds dorky."

Shryke: "Watch your mouth. We have a psycho that plays with us named Donte. He will fucking kill you. Now about those insider tracking numbers."

Please do. And take Donte along with you. And don't forget Rocko and Moose to help the Judge find his checkbook.

On the specialty side, Summit Entertainment's "The Brothers Bloom" starring Adrien Brody, Mark Ruffalo and Rachel Weisz reported an estimated per theater average of $5,696 or $23,000 at four engagements.

Samuel Goldwyn's romantic comedy "Management" starring Jennifer Aniston grossed $109,000 from 212 theaters for a per site of $515.

With that average BB could win the weekend!
