I am offically doing better at this moment than I've ever done in an online tournament.

It's not much, a $3 buy-in with 90 people, and 1st place is only $72, but I'm in the Top 5 as of this moment.

Wish me luck!

I'm currently chip leader, in fact.

I've had a great poker week. Played some $2/$3 NLH at the casino and did well in a couple of tournaments. Up around $1200 for the week.

Could have been much more though. Even in the good weeks you have shit beats. I was chip leader in a 200 person tournament with only 3 players left (i was in top 5 for most of the tourney, and chip leader for most of the final table). I get dealt AQ suited in the small blind. UTG folds, so i raise to 3/4 of the big blinds chip stack (he has around 80K and i have 120K). Dickhead pushes, i snap call. He has pushed with 10-2 off suit and he hits a 2 on the flop.

I was fucking livid. Ended up getting short stacked after that hand and instead of finishing 1st and getting $1200 i finished third (i tilted and pushed with 68 suited and lost) and 'only' won $400.

Complete bullshit.

Best I've ever done is $28.

I'm in Top 5 right now (worst I can do is $18), and I've knocked out nine people for $.50 each so far.

ETA: Top 4, and I have more than half the available chips.

ETA: Top 3 now.

ETA: Done now. Went all in with AJ and got beat by QQ. Then went all in with A5 and lost to QK. A real dickhead. Still, I won a total of $39.50. Best I've ever done.

I don't get that. Did he think you would fold against a raise that's only 1/3 the size of your initial bet? Very unlikely. So does that mean he was confident that his 10-2 off suit was better than whatever you had? Bollocks! So he just couldn't be bothered playing the game out properly and does a WTF! I hate seeing shit play like that get rewarded.

I didn't get it either. I asked him what the hell has was doing and he says "i'm trying to make you fold".. to which ofcourse i told him to fuck himself and explained 'why the hell would i fold when i've raised to 3/4 of your chip stack'.. then he goes i didn't put you on pockets and so i had two live cards.. Shocked

Depending on pot odds, that could be the right call (the exact hand won Doyle 2 world championships). Though it doesn't sound like the right call here. Chris Ferguson would say that he didn't care because if someone is that stupid, he's going to profit off of them 2.3 times more than they profit off of him. Probably doesn't help though.

Pot odds would be if he actually had any money in the pot. Like you said, he simply didn't have it for this hand. He had 80K chips and only 5K was invested in that as a big blind. Surely that's an easy fold?

Also, i can't really profit off him cause this was a tournament. It's even more painful that he went on to win the bloody thing.

Anyway, i've put that behind me now. Started hitting the 2/3 tables at the casino more. I'm doing well there. Need to go for a real session though. I've been going with friends and they always want to leave after a couple of hours (cause they are all shit and bust out early). 2 nights ago we went for two hours and i had to fold for the first hour and a half because in all that time i only got one picture card (no joke.. seriously just the one). First hand that was playable was pocket 10s, i raised pre-flop and get two callers. The board comes up A-5-K with a flush draw and a straight draw.. Yay for pocket 10s.. Mad

After that things picked up, and i went from $100 down to $140 up and then my friends wanted to leave in the middle of my rush. Had to get up and go.

Last five times at the casino i'm up around $1350 now so i'm very happy with that.

I put some cash into FT and lost some cash. I started doing the Full Tilt Poker Academy where the pros give lessons on various topics. After that, there's a test and challenges you're supposed to do at the tables. Now I'm playing more aggressive stealing blinds in spots I wouldn't have before and my bankroll keeps going up.

At the end of the month, I'll have a bonus (a promo where you play two tables at once and get cash at the end of the month) and barring a major meltdown I should be at or above my starting 'roll again.

Also, I flopped QUADS! I was in the BB with pocket 5s and a guy raised it to 2x. I figured that's rather cheap, so I called and the flop was 5-5-2 with two spades. I bet like I was trying to buy the pot and the guy raised. I raised all in and got a call. All the guy had was KJ. Two hands later, I doubled up again with an overpair JJ. Then I got off the table so I didn't blow my profit.

I won $310.18 for my first place finish in a $1 + $.10 (1r+1a) tourney. Was not hitting my hands in the beginning, then doubled up on my QQ vs AK and played aggressively stealing blinds and trapping opponents just trying to survive to the final table. There I not only survived, but thrived doubling up against the chip leader and then the next hand eliminating him in fourth place.

I settled with the guy that came in second giving him $20 over second place's $207. I beat out 664 other players. I am now up $300 overall.

Another one... 610 players $2 + .25

Placed 11th for $13 something. I should have just folded my AK instead of betting it when I missed the flop. But, I was close to short stacked. I knew it when I pushed.

Found a site that tells you what type of player anyone is by their screen name. It takes all of your hands played and does a statistical analysis of it and says whether you're loose, conservative or what. I'm posting mine, Shryke's and leestu's because that's the only three I can remember. Everyone else, give me your name and I'll look you up.

Here's me:

Pre-Flop Tendency: SEMI LOOSE - The Poker-Edge software automatically color codes neutral players in BLACK for easy identification.

Player Type : You are a Bomb (Aggressive/Aggressive). Your Aggressive play Pre and Post Flop makes the table fear you. The Poker-Edge software shows you the Bombs by placing an icon next to their name at the table!

Strengths: Your aggressive nature is your biggest strength. You win many pots on bluffs and semi-bluffs.

Weaknesses: Your biggest weakness is you sometimes lack discipline. Your aggression is unwarranted sometimes. People slowplay or check-raise you because they know you will bet.

Best Advice: Work on your discipline, and you will be a shark.

Here's Shryke:

Pre-Flop Tendency: LOOSE - The Poker-Edge software automatically color codes loose players in GREEN for easy identification.

Player Type : You are a Calling Station (Loose-Passive/Passive). The most unprofitable player type! Have a seat at my table, please... The Poker-Edge software shows you the Calling Stations by placing an icon next to their name at the table. Enjoy taking their chips.

Strengths: You don't have many strengths... except... you cannot be bluffed! That's for damn sure.

Weaknesses: As a loose player, you are often behind when you enter pots. You will end up in dominated situations against better players, and unless you have excellent judgement they will take your money. As your name suggests, your biggest weakness is you call too much! Good players will repeatedly bet into you or raise you for value. You rarely bet your winning hands either, so you don't get paid off and you give other players an easy way to catch up. You are almost always unprofitable.

Best Advice: Tighten up your starting hand requirements. Stop calling so much. Stop chasing the long shot draws. Fold your weak hands, and bet or raise your strong ones. Be more aggressive!

Here's leestu:

Actually, I couldn't find you one there. Sorry.
