Read some of the longer posts on there. Its hilarious... One guy was saying that they wanted to capitalize on the success of the original film (which made $13 M). Another said that Americans ruin all British comedy and cited "The Office," which I don't love, but other people seem to and it gets tons of critical acclaim and awards. If you're going to fight for something stupid, at least come up with good points.

Anyways, hilarious.

One good point: Coupling. I watched one episode of the remake and it was a piece of shit. There was no soul and it didn't make any sense.

This one is good because it's a real DVD cover.

We've all heard the original version a million times. Maybe some of us like it. But this is freakin' hysterical.

Wow, Snow Patrol actually had a song that did well? But then again, it probably shouldn't be a surprise since Ok Go, Dashboard Confessional and every single "punk" wannabe of the decade have charted as well. Wow, did I just name off the entire Spider-Man 3 soundtrack?

Also, does anyone else get the idea that Stephenie Meyer is the only reason why (We Can't Spell Lincoln Correct) Park is relevant again? Because I was kind of glad that they faded and were nearing the end of their run. But then Twilight came out and now they're big again. Also, it sucks that Blink 182 and Limp Bizkit are coming back. If one more nu metal/modern punk group returns from the grave, I'm probably going to scream.

Well, they seem to be doing well lately since their music was also in Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen. And you don't see too many groups that peaked in 2004 having new songs appear in 2009 blockbusters (I'm looking at you, Dashboard Confessional).

Buscemi, in 500 words or less:

Explain to me how, in any stretch of the imagination, that "Dashboard Confessional" wanted to be, or was ever considered, "punk" in any way, shape or form. In fact, you could try and convince me how they aren't the antithesis of all things punk. I'm not saying this is necessarily a bad thing, just that using the term punk to describe them is really mind-boggling.

I'm with geezer on this one, doubt ANYONE would ever consider them in any way related to punk, they've ever claimed to be punk. Everything I've found is "indie pop-rock", "unplugged emo".. and the official word from their myspace is "acoustic indie rock".
Aside from that, condemning an entire genre ("nu metal") over a couple of really crappy bands that happen to fall in that genre (limp bizkit), is pretty stupid.
Linkin Park's (neither nu metal, punk or indie acoustic rock) renewed visibility has absolutely nothing to do with Stephanie Meyer, and everything to do with the fact that they are ramping up for an album release this fall.

I mentioned Dashboard Confessional because they did the main track in Spider-Man 2 (even though their music sucks) and then disappeared a few years later. I figured it was appropriate to compare them to Linkin Park's appearance on the Transformers 2 soundtrack.

I'm pretty sure that fans of music don't get the music they like from the movies they see, and Linkin Park has a ton of fans. I also believe that the "Linkin" is intentional, and your feeble attempt at making fun of them for misspelling the word "Lincoln" was just stupid. To assume they only made a comeback because of movies is ridiculous.

To assume that the X number of millions of people that read Meyer's website regularly and the X number of millions of people that saw Twilight and make it the most searched film on IMDB and (last time I checked) 5 or 6 actors in the film the top 10 searched actors on the site have nothing to do with recent success is also ridiculous.

Especally considering that the Twilight audience is part of the largest music buying audience in the nation (pre-teenage/teenage/post teenage girls).

That's all I agree with (or know about) this new(er) music discussion.

Funny as literal cartoon lampooning those who are behind the curve of culture and trendiness or funny as a satire jab at Youtube and a culture that views not paying artists for their music as a virtue? Thought-provoking and amusing selection nspan.

I haven't paid for music since 2005. And I haven't paid for a movie since 2007 (except for a couple this summer).

I laugh too at people who pay for music.
