DATE CHANGE: "My Life in Ruins" bumped to June, "Sex Positive"

According to Box Office Mojo, "My Life in Ruins" has been bumped from 5/8 to 6/19. This means that it is now unavailable in the March leagues. Additinonally, according to ComingSoon, "Sex Positive" has been yanked from its 3/20 spot and will be released in the summer. This will affect the following players:

Actually, Disney did it with most of their animated films back then, not just Lion King. The one week limited doesn't seem so odd to me. It adds a little prestige to the film or something and most people would be gullible enough to believe something like that. Seems like the right move to me.

I actually think that Precious will go wide immediately. They're already showing the trailer with Madea Goes To Jail (Nine months early!) and they've got a number of big names to help promote the release (such as Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey).

It is listing the Wachowskis as producers on this film also. I wonder if they adopted this guy?? LOL

I wonder about that too. He was also forced by the Wachowskis to do reshoots on that awful remake of Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (after the Wachowskis were hired to make the film not make any sense at all).

Agreed. FD4 should stay on it's 8/14 date, it's prime space. One week after G.I. Joe, which'll fall hard (and that's even if it doesn't get pushed back) and two weeks before H2. But then again, H2 won't come close to the last one since most people hated it. August 14th is WIDE OPEN!!! What are they thinking?

And H2 can be ready by then. I mean, W was still filming last May and was released in October.

Why didn't they with the first one, or with this one, do a release date closer to Halloween. I don't get it, did they not want to compete with other horror films?

Maybe it opened in August due to past experience? The Weinsteins opened Halloween H20 in August (August 5th, 1998 to be exact) and got a surprise hit from it which resurrected the once-moribund series. Perhaps they were following a tried and true method. Also, the release date helped it be the last big summer film/first big fall film.

The Expendables is going to be awesome April 2010 cant wait. Dumb move pushing Final Desnation back it will get eaten alive by H2.
