That's a very rich 10 you've got their Nspan. Hayseed Dixie, now that is unique. I've been meaning to post a video of them on the songs of the fantaverse thread. Which Shatner tunes do you have?

aside from the obvious "Rocketman"--i have his 2004 album Has Been.. it's surprisingly not terrible.. in fact, i think his cover of "Common People" is preferable to Pulp's original

For great 80's soundtrack songs you cannot even come close to Mr. Loggins. That guy needs to make theme songs for newer movies...

Coldplay - Daylight
Tool - Swamp Song
Slipknot - Diluted
The Beatles - She Loves You
Marilyn Manson - The Golden Age of Grotesque
Revis - Re-Use
Pantera - By Demons Be Driven
Megadeth - 99 Ways to Die
Marcy Playground - Gone Crazy
Third Eye Blind - Burning Man

Wow that is a crazy mix. Coldplay and early Beatles surrounded by Manson, Slipknot, Pantera and Tool. Smile And some good 90's poprocks to end it all.

Re: Song Shuffle Game

Post by leestu on Fri Feb 06, 2009 12:03 pm

I never got to have a go at this because I have never had an MP3 player, but I got one for Xmas, so it may be a bit late but I wanted at least one go. So far I only have 230 songs on there. (I need more time. Anyone else think we should have more than just 24 hours a day?)

Here was today's playlist on the train on the way to work (which coincidentally takes about 10 songs to get from home to work.)

RAMMSTEIN - Bang Bang
SOUNDGARDEN - Black Hole Sun
JOY DIVISION - Transmission
NEIL YOUNG - Needle and the Damage Done
GREEN DAY - American Idiot
MARILYN MANSON - The Dope Show
VELVET UNDERGROUND - Sweet Jane
SMASHING PUMPKINS - Disarm
SONIC YOUTH - 100%
THE CLASH - Should I Stay Or Should I Go

I have put a mix of old classics and new stuff on there but for some reason it was all old stuff this morning.

I'm still new to this MP3/IPOD stuff so I was wondering, I love the shuffle function BUT there seem to be a group of songs that I hear nearly every time I listen and others that I know are on there but NEVER seem to come up. Is this a common thing or the result of an el cheepo player or just true randomisation in action?

i like your style.. good music there--though i might pass on the Green Day and Marilyn Manson... if it makes you feel any better, the Shuffle function on ipods is just as bad as on most any other mp3 player

How strange that three shuffles in a row on here have resulted in a Smashing Pumpkins song!

Gotan Project - Paris, Texas
Wolfmother - Colossal
Butthole Surfers - Pepper
Red Hot Chili Peppers - This Velvet Glove
Eisley - I Could Be There For You
XTC - In Another Life
The Yardbirds - No Excess Baggage
Cream - Deserted Cities of the Heart
Hot Tuna - Sally, Where'd You Get Your Liquor From?
Grateful Dead - Shakedown Street

not half bad.. nothing embarrassing, at least.. (although, i suppose, you could call me a sissy for having Eisley in my collection.. but i gotta support my texas girls).. for the most part, these are somewhat lesser songs by really great bands

Great to see Wolfmother on your playlist Nspan. IMO one of the best debut albums since Nirvana's Bleach. Big call I know, but every song is different and interesting, and most importantly, they all rock with a sense of fun.

Mine won't have any Pumpkins because I don't have any Pumpkins. LOL

Rod Stewart - Forever Young
Neil Young - Ohio
Sleater-Kinney - A Quarter to Three
Wilco - Summer Teeth
Not counting since it isn't a song but George Carlin's Seven curse words stand up audio. Smile
Pantera - Regular People
Fallout Boy - The Carpal Tunnel of Love
The Smiths - That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore
AC/DC - Highway to Hell
U2 - With Or Without You
The Brian Setzer Orchestra - This Cat's on a Hot Tim Roof

Okay that one is slightly embarrassing. Makes me sound either like an old softie or a young emo kid. LOL

Not embarrassing at all. Take away Rod Stewart and I would be proud of that list. Neil Young, Smiths, AC/DC, Brian Setzer all good stuff. Although I haven't heard of Sleater-Kinney so maybe that and Rod stewart are the embarrassing part.

Donte, you don't have any Pumpkins yet you have Fall Out Boy??? I'd shake my head if I wasn't scared it would fall off....

And Sleater Kinney are certainly not embarrassing.
