I liked Rilo Kiley's stuff on Saddle Creek, put couldn't get into anything they did past taht...

Anyway, here's another...

Ima Robot - 12=3
Dinosaur Jr. - Get Me
Sam Cooke - Touch the Hem of His Garment
The Replacements - God Damn Job
Journey - Open Arms
Woody Guthrie - Talking Dust Bowl Blues
The Replacements - Nightclub Jitters
Guns N' Roses - Raw Power
The Birthday Party - Release the Bats
Black Flag - No More

Interesting mix there...started off kind of soft, then got a little more pounding as it went down...

I checked out some of the websites for the bands that I hadn't heard of. Calla is pretty badass even though I could only hear the one song on their site. More bands need to have 30-40 second clips on their site and be able to sell MP3s directly.

I use myspace to check out bands. They usually have three or more full length songs you can listen to which gives you a good idea of their sound.

Lovin' your lists Mfrendo; I haven't heard Release The Bats for years, Piggy makes me laugh every time I hear it and I gotta get me some Fugazi on my MP3.

My train trip this morning:- Not the best of what's on my player but I am still new and only have just over 300 songs on there. I have to work out how to get whole albums on there but it took me ages just to work out how to put single tracks on there. Baby steps.....

BJORK - Play Dead
DEPECHE MODE - Enjoy The Silence
PULP - Do You Remember The First Time?
PINK FLOYD - Mother
BLINK 182 - All The Small Things
GOLDFINGER - Miles Away
THE HERD - I Was Only 19
REGURGITATOR - Blood and Spunk
AFI - Miss Murder
GREEN DAY - St Jimmy

Donte - Songza.com is the only answer. Alternately If songza doesn't have a high quality clip (they recently began linking with youtube, items in white are youtube and yellow are just the songza streaming song, so it is pretty rare they don't have something), I usually look up the band on pandora and listen to clips there or also on Amazon. Sadly I think Songza and Pandora are both only options for those in the states.

I was in the mood for girly music overnight tonight, so here's my bi-polar shuffle Smile

Kate Nash - Foundations
Coldplay - Fix You
Regina Spektor - Lady
Jet - Look What I've Done
Frou Frou - Let Go
Fiona Apple - Oh Well
Rachael Yamagata - I'll Find A Way
The Pretenders - I'll Stand By You
Anna Nalick - Catalyst
Alex Parks - Mad World

I will have to check out Songza.com. Oddly, I have never heard of it. LOL Don't tell John-E, but I love Pandora and have pretty much ignored everything else. Smile
And I have albums (multiples in most cases) of every artist on that shuffle except Alex Parks who I do not know. Our music tastes are similar in many ways except for the eyeliner-guys thing. LOL

Haven't liked any deathcore type music since I was in highschool (and it wasn't deathcore back then, just death metal). I will take your word for it. Smile

Rachael Yamagata - Duet
Kenny Wayne Shepherd - Ledbetter Heights
Puscifier - Queen B
Hurt - Dirty
Pink Floyd - Poles Apart
Tool - Prison Sex
Bjork - Human Behavior
Danko Jones - I Love Living in the City
Korn - Souvenir
Marilyn Manson - (s)Aint

That looks like a EKG. Down then Up then Down then Up then Down then Up, UP, UP.

Ha! I too remember when it was called Death Metal Donte...I guess "metal" isn't cool anymore, so they have to re-label the same shit to a new audience (speaking of metal, one of the booths at Wonder-con was Dave Ellefson, the old bassist of Megadeth...).

Anyways...

Serj Tankian - Money
Prince - 1999
Hank Williams III - What Did Love Ever Do To You
Dinosaur Jr. - Almost Ready
Mudhoney - I Saw The Light
Screaming Trees - Nearly Lost You
Television - See No Evil
Woody Guthrie - Dust Bowl Blues
Public Enemy - Between Hard and a Rock Place
Lamb of God - Ashes of the Wake

I think they are just embarassed that they aren't metal anymore. They have to relabel them so people are not disappointed when they hear the music and do not hear any metal. Smile

And Serj, Prince, Hank the 3rd. Wow. Just, Wow. Wait, I think Woody, Public Enemy, Lamb of God is worse. That is a fucked up mix FriendO.

My turn.

Man-o-War - The Power of Thy Sword
Prince - Little Red Corvette (Hey I got prince too)
Bare Naked Ladies - Pinch Me
Dope - Debonaire
The Wallflowers - Invisible City
The Posies - Going, Going, Gone
Pearl Jam - In Hiding
Seether - Simplest Mistake
The Brian Jonestown Massacre - Not If You Were the Last Dandy on Earth
Danko Jones - Strut

i will agree that there are way too many subgenres but as a metalhead i must defend new metal[i mean new as in new not as in nu/rap metal] anyway i dig it theres a lot of good bands out there still its whatever. Also Lamb Of God is amazing and im going to see them on April 18 there are one of the best band out there right now. btw death metal still exists and deathcore is death metal mixed with hardcore.

On to the shuffle.....

System Of A Down-Deer Dance
Disturbed-Haunted
50 Cent-Get In My Car
Smashing Pumpkins-The Everlasting Gaze
Jedi Mind Tricks-Uncommon Valor:A Vietnam Story
Mastodon-I Am Ahab
Kottonmouth Kings-Tangerine Sky
Lamb Of God-Dead Seeds
Van Halen-Hot For Teacher
