Re: Weekend Estimates for December 12th
Not too bad an opening for TDTESS. I saw it the other day and i don't expect it to have the best legs, but it should finish with a respectable domestic total.
Slumdog and Milk are still going strong which is great. Does anyone know anything about Frost/Nixon?

Friday numbers for smaller movies are at MovieCityNews. All except Frost/Nixon.

I was hoping TDTESS could get 40 mill OW, but that's probably out of reach now.

Re: Weekend Estimates for December 12th
I said TDESS would make $35 million. Damn, I'm good.
And good for Clint Eastwood... I figured it would come down to him and Streep/Hoffman.

Re: Weekend Estimates for December 12th
I'm thinking Milk opened wide a little too quickly. How on earth did I think Delgo would be over in the Over/Under this week???

I read on BOM that Delgo actually has the worst wide release opening since 1982...

Re: Weekend Estimates for December 12th
Don't know about that, but according to BOM, it's the first film EVER to be releasd in more than 2,000 theaters and not even make $1 million on its OW. Here's a link.

Holy hell, what a craptastic opening.

Shit, Shryke, its the first ever wide opening to not make 2 million dollars, let alone one.
Re: Weekend Estimates for December 12th
There's a new Poll Question up at TLMR, in case anyone's interested. It's about Will Smith.

Re: Weekend Estimates for December 12th
Do the failures of Nobel Son and Delgo mean the end of Freestyle Releasing? I think yes (right now they only have five films on their release slate*, unless one is a blockbuster you can say bye-bye to another indie label).
*-After Dark's Horrorfest III, Possession, Assassination Of A High School President, The Accidental Husband, Vanilla Gorilla

Re: Weekend Estimates for December 12th
BOM has 3 of your 5 (Possession, Assassination H.S. Pres., and Accidental Husband) being distributed by Yari Film Group which isn't any better. They can't even get their films to the screen.

Yari actually does their releases through Freestyle. Same thing with After Dark.
