Opening acts are Machinehead (who are great if they stick to material from their first two albums) and Suicide Solution.
You are so lucky Roodey! I would kill to see Slayer and Megadeth together but sadly the U.S doesnt get this tour.
Machine Head's latest album The Blackening is quite good their first two albums are also pretty awesome. The other opening band is Suicide Silence not Suicide Solution. They are pretty entertaining live but i dont think you will be too fond of them Roodey. Hope you have a blast
Ha, clearly i've never even heard of the fourth band! 3/4 will be great though and maybe the fourth will turn out to be one that I like too.

Yeah I'm kinda surprised they seem to be doing everywhere BAR the US! I'm sure they'll end up over there at some point.

Re: upcoming live shows
Wow.
Guns 'n' Roses just announced they will be playing a show here in the middle of February. I'm trying to decided if I should get a ticket or not. I liked probably three songs off of the last album but it'd be fantastic to hear them play some of the old ones. Any opinions on whether I should see them or if I should save my money? I'm a bit torn.

Re: upcoming live shows
I 'saw' them at a festival a few years back. Now, granted a festival never really showcases a band to their best, but the show was abysmal. They turned up 2 hours late, didn't seem interested and Axl was very poor. Plus, there was very little of the original band left so it was more The Axl Rose Show anyway. If you want to see them purely for nostalgia's sake, they do play most of the old classics (again, this is what happens at festivals, their own live shows may be different). They may not sound like you fondly remember them though...
Meanwhile, Pavement have decided to reform and do a one off show in Auckland next March. Tickets go on sale on Thursday. I'm more than a little excited....

Roody, surfer took the words outta my mouth.. even if they do manage to pull off a half-decent show--it's still not Guns'n'Roses

Coincidentally a couple of days ago I was talking to my wife and reminiscing about seeing Pavement live and how much I enjoyed their gig. This must have been early 90's. Piece of trivia: as we were leaving the gig the drummer stood at the exit and tried to shake as many peoples' hands as he could repeating "thanks for coming" to each person.

Roodey i would say pass on the GNR show. Axl is pretty washed up and its really not even GNR anymore.
