And I meant that since it is a 2 disc set I would pay 5 bucks for each flaming DVD. LOL

Re: The DVD Thread
It would be a profit but no thanks.
However if I come across some DVD's of Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet The Spartans and Disaster Movie, you can burn those with some really bad alcohol (Does Jagermeister burn well?) and a flame thrower.

I've never drank it but I've heard that it tastes like shit. Same with Keystone Light and Popov.

Re: The DVD Thread
When I become legal age, my drinks of choice will probably be Stella Artois and Coppola wine. Maybe some Guinness, Sam Adams and Rolling Rock to round things off.
As for fictional alcohol, I'll take a Sam Jackson.

Stella is a good choice. Not that I would ever contribute to the delinqency of a minor (LOL) but try some Sapporo next time you have sushi. Great beer, especially in the giant silver can.
Good bar bet also to go along with this. Bet that huge meathead at the bar that he can't crush a beer can by banging it on his forehead. Then give him your empty Sapporo can. Watch with glee as he knocks himself out. Run before he wakes. Repeat as necessary for your humor quotient of the day.

Sapporo is definitely good my last ex was a distributor of various drinks including that, and got me hooked on it, and that coming from a mainly non-beer drinker.
My drinks of choice are -
Liquor: Tanqueray & Tonic w/ Lime
Beer: Blue Moon
As you are in the area, you should *definitely* head down to the Schlafly Tap room, get a plate of beer bread and a drink sampler and enjoy. Their IPA is excellent, and their spring seasonal Raspberry Hef and fall seasonal Coffee Stout (it tastes like coffee smells, so good) are amazing! Again, from a non beer drinker, I will drink basically any of their stuff.

Got Mirrormask on Blu Ray. It was written by Neil Gaiman, and I know Jim Henson's co. had a hand in it. I picked it up after loving Gaiman's Coraline so much, and I really liked this one as well. Recommended.
My Blu Ray copy of Let The Right One In arrived yesterday, but I haven't watched it yet...

no way could jager burn.. its 70 proof.. aka pansy stuff.. frat-boys like it because it has less alcohol than a real shot--so, at the end of the night, they can claim to have drank more..
i'd take green chartreuse (110 proof) over jager any day

Buscemi wrote:First of all, I actually liked World Trade Center (in fact, I like most of Oliver Stone's films with the exception of Any Given Sunday*). And second, it was the two-disc version and that usually retails for $30.
They also had the two-disc One From The Heart (Coppola goes experimental) but I didn't get it.
*- Any Given Sunday was bad. You think with a great cast and a just as great director, you would have the ultimate football epic. Instead you get an unrealistic and unbelievable movie made by people who don't know football and starring actors who've had better days, such as Pacino, Dennis Quaid, Jamie Foxx, Matthew Modine and many others. And even though the DVD release is six minutes shorter than the version shown in theatres, the film stills feels twice as long.
Completely agree about Any Given Sunday. Great Cast Great Director and still one of the shittest sports movies ever made.

Ace Ventura Pet Detective (DVD)
The Mask (VHS and the older DVD)
Dumb and Dumber (unrated DVD)
Batman Forever (VHS but will never buy on DVD since I hate the film only got it in a Batman box set for my seventh birthday since I'm also a big fan of Batman)
Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (VHS and DVD)
Liar Liar (VHS)
Man On The Moon (DVD)
Bruce Almighty (DVD)
Adam Sandler:
Airheads (DVD)
Billy Madison (older DVD)
Happy Gilmore (VHS)
The Wedding Singer (older DVD)
Dirty Work (DVD)
The Waterboy (DVD)
Big Daddy (DVD)
Little Nicky (DVD)
The Animal (older DVD, and give me a break since I was 12 when I got it)
Mr. Deeds (DVD)
Eight Crazy Nights (2-disc DVD)
The Hot Chick (DVD, I was 13 when I got this one)
The Longest Yard (DVD)
and I also have Joe Dirt (DVD, same with The Animal), in which he produced but didn't star in

its funny, i rarely draw a direct connection between the films of particular actors.. instead, movies (to me) are defined by their director.. and, to a lesser extent, their writer.. obviously, there are some actors whose filmographies are comprised primarily of vehicles for themselves.. Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler are great examples of this.. i mean, who the hell knows who directed The Wedding Singer without visiting IMDB? but, more typically, it seems like most actors appear in such a variety of projects that there is little connective thread between them--thematically or even in terms of quality.. and, again, there's an exception to this.. at one point in time, i'd cite Johnny Depp (who has always seemed to put a great deal of thought into his choice of roles).. John Wayne or Clint Eastwood, on the other hand, might be examples of actors who spent much of their careers molding and perfecting one character.. anyway, back to my main point, i've always found that following the careers of directors is much more rewarding.. even if they dabble in multiple genres, you can oftentimes find particular themes that are consistently addressed... and, if you're just looking for the next good movie to watch, you're usually better off following a good director's career than any actors'..
not sayin' my methods are any better, boosh.. just funny to think how differently people can approach movies

Re: The DVD Thread
I guess to me it's more about childhood favorites and watching the people that you know will always entertain you no matter what role they play. Carrey and Sandler are two guys whose films helped me realize that I wanted to work in the film industry. Connelly was probably my first major crush and the first person (besides Carrey) who's career I really followed. During the time that I found that she left acting, I really wasn't into films much. And when she returned and won an Academy Award, I got into films again.
Today, Jennifer Connelly is still my favorite actress (though I hated her last two movies) but my favorite actors are Robert De Niro and Kurt Russell. Meanwhile, Carrey and Sandler are still favorites (about ten to fifteen best) but not as good as De Niro. But I still look forward to seeing there films.
