Hey everybody, welcome to a new edition of Guest Columnist with me. I am sorry that I am late with this, I have had a lot of other things going on. But I'll go ahead anyway with this. There are five weeks this month so their will be analysis on fifteen films to take or avoid in the game. Let's start.

October 2nd

Take It: Zombieland

Early word has been positive and the ad campaign has been in full force. I know that I am surprised to say this, but this is a horror comedy that may ...

The summer season has come and gone, and it has taken its blockbusters with it. In my first column taking over for Shryke's month in review posts (that I was always a big fan of) I am going to cover the films from the summer's final month: August. It was certainly a month filled with some quality films as well as decent box office numbers. Here's how I rate them in terms of value for our little game:

Prices are from the July-September season.

Before today, it had always been just Shryke doing the weekly new releases column. But W (who has taken Mr. I's place on the column totem pole) decided that it would be a great idea to get a revolving series of columnists to double the Fantaverse weekly reading pleasure. Therefore, I signed up to do the first of this series of columns (along with the first column of the next three months).

Originally, I was going to do a recap for the weekend but I shall do something similar to Mr. I's Studs ...

Hello my fellow Fantaversian friends and welcome to my very erratic but very much sincere (and hopefully insightful enough!) column chronicling those ever mysterious tiny pictures that usually open in a handful of theaters but can turn out oooooh so helpful in your slates, especially in the Ultimate leagues of course.

Some of you probably hate me for not having published a column last week to warn you that French drama Summer Hours had a great shot at getting killer PTA points for a cheap price. ...

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Fantaverse, hello to you. My schedule prevented me from offering you a column last week, so I promise I will make it up to you. Today I will chronicle two weeks of arthouse releases. The first two weeks of the summer. The season Hollywood and blockbuster fans are drooling for every year. But behind the big guns of Tinseltown are also a few independent films waiting to be discovered and possibly liked. Let’s see if there is anything interesting in our good old Fantasy ...

I have been wondering how I would introduce my first column in a (very) long time to you guys. I kind of disappeared off the radar without any real warning, for months, promising every once in a while to our beloved virtual guru Shryke that I was on the verge of coming back. Ask him, I’ve lured him with that more than once in the past few months, and at this very minute, I am sure he is still not totally convinced that I am coming up with a column for the Fantaverse.

Well, Patrick, and ...

Well, Chien is still on hiatus, so I'll do my best to fill in for him. I lack his insight, and am missing quite a few facts on these films (read: fill them in if you know them). With so many small films being included in the April season, however, it seemed a breakdown like this was necessary.

So, here we go.

APRIL 3

Paris 36 – starring Clovis Cornillac, Bernard-Pierre Donnadieu, Gerard Jugnot and Kad Merad. Directed by Christophe Barratier. Current IMDb User Rating ...

Well, guys, here I go again. The Pen name “Indie Jones” is gone (now I go my my real virtual name... wink), the “Dances with the Arthouse”column is deceased, but I shall still be here, now and then, to help you sort out those tiny arthouse films you are not necessarily aware of. Let me tell, though, that I no longer have a fantastic editor correcting my English errors, so in advance, pardon my French (grin).

I will start by getting a look at all those December films I could not deal ...
